Damnit... On the last 4 videos of pieces I've seen, as the first comment, puns...

I love your playing so much. I've searched all over the internet, and no one else can play this like you. You're a legend.

This one sounds much more legato than the others, which is how I remember hearing it, 20 years ago. Love all your versions, though!

I always feel the last part beginning at 04:46 is the aftermath of life - someone beloved has gone, and is no more here, and it's so sad sad and just sad, it's like it converted into a funeral. There is no joy at all in the last part. I feel so empty and sad after the final part of this wonderful song with amazing techniques, it's so happy in the beginning, and it has moments of extreme joy (cadenzas), but was this hard ending really necessary, Liszt?

This is amazing, far better than I could ever play it but as I know the piece I was confused at 3:09 because I thought that was supposed to be an A minor chord, as it's written in the music? Maybe I'm wrong? Pls inform me!

ive watched the various versions of paul bartons different version of un sospiro but none of them are like what rousseau played, I wonder why?
@aidanm.16833 жыл бұрын
Rubato He felt like playing it super fast even if thats not what liszt asked So thats what he did Unless ur talking abt the notes Rousseau said his performsnce was inspired by hamelin, who does compose, so hamelin may have added some different notes.

@Bogarín Rousseau played the ossia at the end with the whole tones in the left hand

Why do you play A major instead of A minor in 3:10 ?

Idk but it sounds even better!

The cadenzas are really tricky, but the main parts are actually pretty doable for Liszt standards. You need to work on bringing the melody out with both hands but other than that, if you know advanced diminished chords and arpeggios, this is doable within a few weeks
