Once upon a time, rock artists produced quality songs both lyrically and musically. It was a delight for the ears of every rock music lover. You could listen to it endlessly. It had a special impact for many. "Kiss Me Deadly"... released in 1988 and still popular in 2023...! The sixties, seventies, eighties... great times... or in other words heydays for rock music. Kathryn Love Pop music is all the same(There are some Exceptions) - Just Sex, butts and autotune. Glam metal is a thing for posers - The real stuff back then was underground. Lita Ford is a POP artist(Excluding Autotune), Because glam metal is just a shitty pop song with distorted guitars
@vsixx43308 жыл бұрын
Congrats on showing how little you know about music - not only it's construction but performance too. 1) Most Western music - from country to pop to metal is constructed the same way. Ie: the chords, progressions & melodies are interchangeable across the styles. Play a instrument and you'd know this. Pop music: ballads, dance numbers, piano-driven, guitar-driven, acoustic, sax - it's all varied just like metal. Beat It is differernt to Crazy For You which is different to the Love Changes Everything which is different to Adventures of a Lifetime which is different to Wannabe which is different to Sweet Dreams which is different to Mickey which is different to Real Gone Kid which is differen to A Hard Day's Night yet it's all pop. Speaking of The Beatles - they influenced everybody. You don't play music today without feleing thr Beatles influence. Alice Cooper used a lot of Beatles-stuff in his music but he's a bonafide metal god. ANd good songs transcend style because a great-written song is great regardless. Diane Warren write all her songs on piano yet have been recorded by the hevaiest, the bluesiest and the popiest of artists. Glam metal is for posers, eh? Tell tht to the people who really dug it - for the music and nothing else. Tell that to the bands that weren't as hardcore as Metallica and so, for them, were being really edgy and daring. I grew up with a band that transitioned from pop to what you wuld call "poser glam rock" yet from their perspective they were really oushing the boundaries. You say glam metal is just shitty pop music but how do you define pop music? You're tlaking the construction but even an imbecile knows there's a huge difference between the Beatles, the Eagles (when they ventured into pop). And you do realise that pop music is written by people who know their shit when it comes to writing songs, don't you? As for being a 'shitty pop song' that infers that all artists (that you decree as glam) are by default bad musicians and songwriters. How does that work? And the I-IV-V structure used as the backbone of Kiss Me Deadly is the STANDARD progression in all Western music and the strongest too. Knock that and you knock everyone from Led Zep to Iron Maiden to Judas Priest to Rolling Stones to Beatles to Elvis. But as said, KISS write different to Poison who write different to Twisted Sister who write different to Alice Cooper - depsite ALL relying on that I-IV-V prog and the melodies as a result yet t's all the same to you, lol. As for shitty - plenty of their songs are timeless classics. What you're failing to grasp is: 1) You're judging music based on image. If those same bands were out now, the image would be more toned down. It was the 80s - that was the image, Likewise a 70s band today would not be all pork chops and bell bottoms if they were about today. 2) Like many an ill-educated metalhead, you're being an elitist idiot and judging music on it's perceived lack of heaviness (as well as image) bearing no mind to the actual song itself - just blanket stating that as it sounds like op to you then it must be badly written and performed by hack posers. 3) Western music means most songs transport to differentgenres effortlessly. This song could be turned into country, thrash, heartflet piano-driven pop ballad, disco - you name it.

Kathryn Love 1. ALICE COOPER IS FUCKING SHOCK ROCK. 2. Western music is not the same. Compare a Megadeth song to a Rihanna song. Totally different 3. Wearing girl's clothes and makeup is the oposite of metal 4. Glam has some nice songs (With this not being one in my opinion) 5. You can not transform a Rihanna song in a thrash metal one 6. Plus Megadeth is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more complex than let's say Kiss or Def Leppard
