😭❤️ I never understood how deep and powerful his words were until I got older. I was about 11yrs old when him, haida, and prophet came to south dakota. I appreciate, how real his words are. It even made me cry, expierencing racism on my own land. Bc even though ppl say it has changed. It hasn’t, 2018 still has the immense racism. Damn shame!

@Tall Jakee yes they're 1% because of a genocide. They're the only real americans.
@-503 жыл бұрын
@Tall Jakee I think the native american population should be rewarded a-lot of benefit's due to the endless peace treaties broken and land stolen. Once again the population of the native americans is irrelevant due to it being tiny in the first place from a genocide. Cruel world we live in where you can take out an entire population move in your people then argue that you are more deserving of the land due to replacing the originals.

I grew up listening to litefoot since the 90's in Eastern Nova Scotia! My uncle purchased me this album as a gift straight from a record shop in C.A.! I believe met litefoot one time as young boy in Restigouche Indian reserve during a powwow and he was in a regalia similar of not the same regalia used on the movie Indian in the cubbord! He's a super nice guy. I was in Cherokee, N.C. at the 4th of July Pow Wow when I met him, his gorgeous wife, mother & his little boy. They were so refreshing & my kids were 12 & 13 at the time so they were in awe of him having seen the movie & read the book a 3 yrs earlier. I spent everyday visiting for a few minutes & they even invited us for lunch. He's also a very accomplished Grass Dancer with stunning red regalia. It was so cute when he & his 6 y/o son with matching regalia both danced during an Inter-tribal. Much respect !

Comment sections are always the best. Half defending how much and how they are native and the half hating all whites. Most of us are mixed now, very rarely to have pure blood. Just enjoy and love the Native culture and quit spreading so much hate. I remember meeting Litefoot in Alturas back in the 90s, he was touring with Haida. Great experience and still love his music.

As a Mexica, Apache amd Kikapu descendant I say to my black brothers n sisters from across the sea "mi casa ea su casa". Most blacks were brought here against their will (others were already here; being black natives)through slavery. On your homelands you took care of the land, grew food, Hunted and provided for your tribe all while respecting the laws of nature as we did and do here. We all have a common enemy that we need to send back so we can continue to care for the land as was to be intended.

The original writer of this song was a Mexican ALT song called One Little Indian 1992 from the album The Lost Civilization Native Americans need to understand that we Mexicans are told from the day we are able to walk, that we are Indigenous even our birth certificates have back ground images of Indigenous warriors and artifacts but yes I love the song, and much love to my Native brother hood.

for 17 years in America I haven't had a break not seeing racism or discrimination. I'm disrespected from many walks and ethnicity for whatever reason maybe it's due to the racist town I'm living in here in Indiana which is the highest racist town around. I truly respect all Nationalities and never have I hated anyone based on there color. Jesus Christ loved everyone regardless of there looks, race or color and so do I as a Christian! Hopefully someday we all can unite living for God the father and his son Jesus Christ in the church he's created known as Church of Christ so all this evil division and racism can go away which it probably won't but only time will tell how long God can wait because God doesn't have a time he can have his son Jesus Christ return anytime he want's.
