In the 70th, I was in the Russian military, serving in the radio transmitter center. The radio transmission equipment used similar tubes in the output stage. When it was ON, we where not allowed to stand closer than 2 meters from the equipment due to the immense amount of elector-magnetic radiation. We had to wait for 45 min. of OFF time before changing the tubes. It was the part of the regulations in the Russian army that really did not give a s...t about its soldiers. Hope these are not the same!

@@Gullsz He is talking about radio transmission output tubes, not regular tubes used in most audio gear. This is the only home amplifier I have seen that uses these kind of transmission tubes in the output stage, although others may exist that I don't know about.

I would remove the preamp completely and put a Lampizator in its place. The amps will sound their best. Unless you want to put a Boulder in the chain with the Lampi.

Yes both are incredibly musical sounding to me but the NAT has a little more to offer in terms of depth and clarity while the audio note tonmeister was just more 3D imagery. If NAT sounded 3D, the tonmeister sounded like IMAX

Looking at the NAT website, it says the max output is 80 watts. Also the input impedance is stated as 100Kohm, so it should work with moderate output impedance pre-amps. However this data is for versions from November 2019, maybe yours is older....

FYI, according to the NAT website, the Transmitter HPS amp that is being reviewed in this video outputs 80W in high power mode and 40W in low power mode. It's the next more powerful NAT amp, the Magma M HPS, that outputs 130W.

Strange result in that tube preamps didn't work. The specs suggest otherwise, 100K input impedance and 1.5V sensitivity. That pretty much says about anything running them should sound good. Wonder what is up with that.

Marshall tube amps peak out at 100 watts. They were designed to fill stadiums. In the music business there's a term, "PA watts". When you get one of these 1500 Watt solid state guitar amps even the manufacturers will qualify it as not like a tube amp. You need to realize though that anything you can use to "describe the sound" of the amp is coloration?

Claiming consistently all the time on a weekly basis that this is the best in the world these are my reference pieces of equipment, how many reference piece of equipment can you own and play at the same time, in a small room.. this guy a week ago said oh these are my reference speakers this is my reference amplifier this is my reference AVR does all reference of course it's a reference.. at least in the minds of those who create these advertisements.. you can't listen to everything all the time everywhere.. so if you have so-called quote unquote reference equipment.. how does that change about every 8 to 10 days..???? Everybody needs to answer themselves that question..

I prefer my Audio Power Labs 833 TNT. Oilcooled Class A tube Amps from Columbus,Ohio These NAT s are made in eastern Europe and are known to be very unstable! DR Solheim Marbella and Norway!

well my experience is with this one unit so I can't speak for how unstable or unreliable other units are but mine is just as it was when I bought it. And its an older model too

The amps are not unstable at all. These will last a lifetime.. I've sold about 10 pair..
