On Last UGC NET Exam (2022) There Was a Question that is- Which Among the Following is not a Pastoral Elegy? What is the difference between elegy and pastoral elegy? An elegy is a poem on the death of someone. And pastoral suggest that the elegy is related to 'shepherd', and rustic life.

The elegy in the country churchyard by T.Gray laments the death of a person or the eventual death of all people. Whereas in pastoral elegy like lycidas,adonais is a conventional elegy set in a classical world 🌎 the poet and subject are spoken of as shepherds. Lament/ mourn on fellow shepherd.
