There is actually a way to get the gas stamps without alerting security, but the game doesn't tell you. You can only figure out by exploring the building. If you head to the basement, you'll find an electric box. Then, you press a button and it'll deactivate the safe's alarm, and the cops won't be coming at you. They even include an alternate cutscene with Henry afterwards if you complete the mission without killing anyone.

The thing about the safe is the alarm is on. There is a switch to turn it off in the basement which is required to get the stealth trophy.

A few things you missed during the gas stamps raid: There was a power box down in that basement you could’ve turned off before going to the safe which disables the alarm. Secondly there’s a funny conversation that happens between 2 of the guards which almost breaks the fourth wall, it’s quite self referential, involving them talking about video games. And lastly you didn’t have to actually get out the car each time to redeem the gas stamps.

You didn’t have to get out of your car to sell the gas stamps. All you gotta do is drive up to the window and honk your horn and Vito will talk to the gas station attendant. Definitely would have saved you enough time to sell them all.

@joakimberg7897 There's also a specific route you need to take, trying to hit 5 on one island and one on another is guaranteed failure. If you go online and search "Mafia 2 gas stamps map" it'll show you the best route for time.

It doesn't make sense, but I'm pretty sure you can sell those gas rations at the gas station without leaving your car when you pull up close. Also, the only way to staop the alarm from setting off at the safe is to turn the alarm off with an electrical box in the basement. You still did a good job and so so close to 100k now!

The crates section is a sort of self-jab and a reference to the OG Mafia 1, in the original 2002 version of the Just For Relaxation mission, you had to manually load all the "cigar" crates into a truck much like Vito does for a bit here, and there was a second pallet of crates you could also move to keep cover as a dock worker (cheesing it was also an option though); all this was replaced with the stealth gameplay in the remake. The developers were aware of how unpopular that mission was and decided to poke a little meta fun at themselves.

Hi there! In the building which you went to steal the gas stamps, you could disable the alarm in the basement before you open the safe. Also, when you were selling the stamps, you could park next to the gas station's window without getting off the car, to gain more time. And last, in the body shop if you want to change the colour of the car you can also move left and right to see the rest of the colours 😊😊😊😊

54:47 The reason Joe says it all the time is because originally they had it where the police would chase you if you did go through a light but it got scrapped, there’s a setting in Mafia 1 to enable it too

Played the original version of this game over a decade ago and had so much fun with it! Your series is making me want to pick up this definitive edtion and play again. Also, I am a 110% casual gamer and did not have a tough time with this game at all. So it might be a good idea to play around with the settings as far as shooting.

The game doesnt tell you, but theres a basement with a room that turns off the alarm. I was curious if you could stealth it as well. The red light blinking is a indicator that the alarm is still on. Love the series, hope you have fun with this mafia game since this is the oldest mafia games you played. And the playboys are collectibles and its okay if you missed some its that some of them are in other places in the map during missions its insane!

the gun mechanics are "realisitic" because you arent always going to hit your target while aiming you could miscalculate and barrel length plays a big part why the pistol doesn't hit in the center all the time

31:18 "Why?" Maybe because that RED blinking light in the corner above the safe is an alarm that's obviously on? That the alarm is not set off by removing one of the guards, but as an electrical circuit has a control panel somewhere (not right next to the safe) - and that it won't be marked with neon arrows that say, FOR THIEVES, HERE? Does the game have to lead you by the hand? You have a map of the building with a description. Just take the time to explore the building, instead of sticking to one, easiest path...

you can fix your car in your own garage. i forget if it costs any money, but i do know you can fix it in your own garage. as for the gas stamps, i never got caught because i went to the basement and disabled the safe's alarm by taking out the fuse. knocking out the 3 guards is easier. then you can get out undetected. i never knew aby of this stuff either. it was a lot of trial and way too much error.

Btw you could've disabled the alarm for the safe by going downstairs, little things the game doesn't tell you directly. Also, you don't have to head home right away, as sleeping always advances the chapter. When missions end, that's your downtime and opportunity to spend your cash on clothes and vehicles.
