G'day from Australia, I am glad that you pronounce it Lithgow not Lithgcow, well done my friend. I am glad you are using good old Aussie rifle, been made in the same factory since 1912. Look up the Lithgow factory museum, it has one of the best displays, I have seen in the world. even a very varied collection of LUGERS. People are bringing up issues of magazine feeding problems, well that issue has been resolved a while back now, as the villain as to with the feeding issue, was the top plate that that pushed the bullet up was made of plastic I believe, they are made of metal now. With no issues. I have fired my friends at the range and the Lithgow is a sweet unit to operate, mine is coming very soon with a walnut stock and black ceracoat + a March 3-24x52 scope. I might be biased being a Greek Aussie. keep up the good work Mr Revolver guy.
@Dayattherange2 жыл бұрын
Thank you much Black Prince I have had no issues except in the extreme cold and I know that was more ammo related, even my CZ magazines work with it. Only change is the spring the make the trigger a little lighter. This rifle is very consistent and the least pickiest of the bunch. I love pictures when you get yours email me a picture of your setup.

If the rounds are feeding harder with the CZ magazine, eject a few rounds without firing and examine the rounds for cut marks. My Ruger Precision Rimfire was marking up the rounds and I talked to Ruger about the problem and they sent me a new chassis and that fixed the problem. I always looked to me like the old magazine was to low in the chassis and the edge of the barrel was cutting the rounds.

I actually believe the weakness of this Lithgow is the inability to feed. I have watched many videos of different shooters with this rifle and they all have difficulty chambering rounds. It must be distorting them somewhat.
@Dayattherange4 жыл бұрын
Only trouble I have had is with the CZ magazines I have confirmed that. with the original 5 round magazine no issue.
@perdidocamaronero54004 жыл бұрын
@@Dayattherange Can you confirm your groups might be better with the original mag? I have a Ruger 10-22 with all Volquartsen parts except for the receiver that has trouble with accuracy with a couple of magazines. They feed perfectly but they always tend to have drastic flyers for no reason the other three magazines I have don't do this.
@adzythepwcblokeinaustralia54672 жыл бұрын
I had to adjust the follower in the magazine and a small adjustment with a file on the plastic feed guides that releases the rim of the .22 round , it allows the round to feed smoothly with “ NO “ damage to the bullets. A 10 Rd steel CZ magazine worked better than the plastic magazine.

This video is awesome. It proves the point I've been trying to make for months and months. Guys spend unnecessary money on a vudoo and top ammo expecting it to keyhole shots and when it doesn't they get all mad and pissed lol making excuses. You don't need to spend 7 grand on a vudoo to shoot tight groups ESPECIALLY at 50 yards. My built 1022 shoots better than this vudoo and my build ruger precision rimfire shoots even better it shoots better at 100 yards matter of fact.

To truly test ammo correctly you have to clean between each different band of ammo do to different types of lube. If you don't do this it will not be a fair representation of how that ammo shoots in your gun. because of to two mixed lubes in the barrel. By cleaning I mean just 2 wet patches a then 2 dry ones and about 6 to 8 fowling shots of the new ammo to be tested before you shot for score with new ammo. I shoot ARA unlimited and this does a big different in my gun. You may pass up the best best ammo for your gun because of the mixed lubes .

Take a little advice from someone that has been shooting .22's a long time. Fix your original rest. Nothing wrong with the Rock BR. Glad to see you finally have a decent rear bag. All Eley, with the EPS bullet, starts out as Tenex. It gets downgraded to Match and Team depending on accuracy results across the five test barrels at Eley. Cleaning the barrels was a waste of time. BTW as I have stated before, all .22 must Lot tested even Tenex. I have some Lots of Team that will out shoot Tenex. I shot some Eley Benchrest Outlaw at 200 yds today. 10 shot group was a good bit less than 2" out of my CZ 455 with stock barrel in a Boyd's Pro Varmint stock. One additional tip. Get a track plate for the fore end of your rifles. Here you go. www.whiddengunworks.com/product/track-plate-2/
@Dayattherange4 жыл бұрын
Aware of the track plate I have one for the Kimber 82G Joe. Yes one can add on many accessories which definitely help prove how accurate a rifle is and I may progress that way but for now I want to keep it stock and have a good baseline. That way anything I do change I know how much of a difference it made and maybe others can learn from it also.
@joed32644 жыл бұрын
@@Dayattherange Your Rock BR can be made as good as a high dollar rest. Remove the front pad you are using. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and purchase a square felt furniture pad and place it where your original front pad was. Get a couple of round pads and attach them to the two ears that have the little screw to adjust side tension on the rifles fore end. Wish I could send you a picture. www.lowes.com/pd/Super-Sliders-2-Pack-4-1-2-in-X-6-in-Oatmeal-Felt-Pad/1000372575

@@joed3264 Nah I get it I actually have a smaller bag that fits the Lithgow very well, I just forgot to change it out but you painted a very good visual and still may decide to go that route. The original bag is not as wide and can be squeezed by the ears. The reason for the Protektor bag is for a different rifle that gas a 3 inch track plate on it. Thank you for the assist Joe.
