Tesla still looks to be on an incredible trajectory despite the already world changing success. To paraphrase Musk recently, 'People are saying that the worlds biggest ten car companies will be Tesla and then nine Chinese companies.' Here come the EV's. We all know it. Combined with our obsession with powered devices, it's hard to argue the demand for lithium won't continue to rise on levels only described by big words. No doubt that more supply is coming online and due to come online for years to come. Will demand meet supply? Anyone out there who can enlighten me to any of the picture I'd love to hear it. It's so much more interesting than football.

That's too many IFs. There are plenty of Lithium deposits around the entire world. It's the refining capacity that is lacking and those factories takes years to build. Investing in mines is a risky business especially when competitions are around the globe.

Better hurry. Today most re-chargeable batteries use Lithium. However, new ones are being developed every year and at least one so far uses no Lithium. It's in production and already used on one model of car in China. Everyone working on batteries are on notice, you don't get "years" anymore. You have to get to market before someone in China leap frogs your design. I think there will be at least 3 new types of batteries in production every year for the next decade.

Everyone except Goldman sachs got it wrong . Some credit where is due. ! A great presentation but I must say I do find all the “if this and if that” to be unhelpful . Where are the real figures from mine production and battery inventory . This takes alot of homework .

Geopolitics will determine how sucessful chinese built EVs will be including Tesla. EV manufacturers in China can lose money on every EV built and still be profitable; through subsidies. That car market is a COMMAND market, unique and stand only. It is not meaningful to include chinese sales figures to those of the world sales. It is not a given that chinese built EVs will succeed in the markets that matters; North America, and EU. I am not antiEV, i am considering a Tesla purchase. Tesla has drop their inventory prices by 10%

If you tow a boat, caravan, horse float or trailer with tools as many tradesmen do, EV's are a dead duck - they just don't have the range and they take too long to refuel - if you can find a charging station that is vacant. Also if you want to drive ,more than 400 km in a day you are pretty much screwed as well, as you need to hope that you can find an EV charging station that is open, working and available when you need it. Additionally there is the problem with insurance as batteries cannot be repaired - the risk is too high, so it's a full replacement for even minor damage. Replacement of batteries once they reach their 10 year service life means second hand EV's will be worthless and unless EV's stop catching fire, more and more businesses will ban them i.e. car ferries, parking lots, smash repair shops, shopping centres etc.

Research SSB. One of major players is Solid Power. Range will go up by double and longest life plus faster recharge. You be able to go 700-800 miles per single charge

Then why is Amazon delivering packages in a Rivian built eV van? You can bet they have done the math. Frito lay is delivering using Telsa trucks. it is a challenge for RVs where range can be important for cross-country trips, but then why be in a hurry?
