This has absolutely nothing to do with you and everything to do with the decks and the state of yugioh in 2020… but damn. This has got to be the worst form of yugioh. Die roll and “do you have the out”. I know people are upset with the current format in 2024, but I don’t think anything has come close to 2020. Everytime we see from 2020 covid format deck it’s always so predictable unfortunately

There were some pretty bad mr4 formats that could give 2020 a run for its money in worst format. I’m shocked Yugioh made it through covid with no in person events and how terrible the formats were

Current Snake-Eye format is REALLY awful, and the second time I’ve actively stopped playing all together With that said, I still agree that 2020 and maybe late 2018 (the first time I stopped for a while) was worse lmao. Back to back awful, go first and win decks that play around everything bar double or triple board breaker

@@lunadachi4792 agree with all the above. And I felt like DUNE format right before agov was pretty great too which stings. Actually, I’ve quite enjoyed most formats since 2021. This is definitely the worst since 2020 IMO!

Yeah, I mean, not having Halqidon or Smoke Grenade definitely is losing some of the more unfair stuff, but it gets much more of its own identity. I like its Master Duel format version, where it has access to Isolde at the same time as newer tools like Gearblade, Princess, and Dempsey. Just a shame about Maxx C...

@@Raithul Halqdon + smoke grenade is great, but the deck felt like it wasn’t the best at using Halqdon (obv not). The 2023 version has so much more in-engine synergy, a better endboard (2 s/t negates, monster negate, and/or baronne or appo + ring + followup in Angelica/Museum), and it has a better time playing with connector and dolphin (hand rip multiple times potentially). There’s no surprise it’s better (it’s several years in the future + better support). For me, it should have been the version in the cross-banlist cup, especially considering Unchained is in the CBC this year.

It kinds was though. It just happened that there were two games where the going first player did not open the optimal combo and the going second player opened two really impactful handtraps. None of the games where actually close and entered a grind game.

@@petarpetrov1784 oh it could be absolutely disgusting. But i dont actually think that the top lists will play it. Extra deck space is really tight and every card just seems more important. If the Full Snake eye + Fiendsmith combo goes through you win anyway. So you dont really want to dedicate space to cards that are basicially win more. Its similar to how Siperheavy samurai could basicially FTK. But it wasnt worth playing the FTK because it too away utility and the normal endboard was good enough.

2020 was the worst year for Yugioh imo. Spyral, Adamancipator, Halq/Linkross/Auroradon, Infernoble, Zexal lock, Buster lock, Scythe lock, VFD turbo, and Drytron. Oh yeah, and no large tournaments.

game 1 going first combo, no handtraps -> gg; game 2 going first combo. no handtraps -> gg; finally game 3 an actual game...; aand game 4 back to going first full combo, no handtraps. game 5 now the reverse, enough handtraps block combo and just go full combo itself This was terrible :D

could anyone pls tell me what the strong arm symbol vs the sad face symbol means in the profiles? I thought it was cards you want to see vs cards you don't, but surely it's good to draw connector?

I assume the muscle arm means ,,strengths of the deck" and the sad face means ,,choke points" Like e.g. in tearlaments you can see Kitkallos and Kelbek on both lists, and we don't have to discuss that those cards fit both bills

This was just a post adman-2020 meta match. I remember particularly hating that format because for the first time I think ever, no matter what you played, you basically playing the same deck. Infernoble and dlink basically homogenized into the same gamestate in different fonts. Both would end on borrel savage, arc light, some form of removal (seals or Charles), some form of handloop (levianeer, aqua dolphin, and smoke grenade) and buster lock. Maybe apo or HRDAA if you’re feeling spicy. But no matter way to slice it, it felt terrible to play into. So glad we don’t live in a world of unhealthy yugioh anymore

Going first was way too strong. Honestly nothing was worse than ss red layer, ns connector, gamma on it, into a talents hand rip and they then having the extender anyways and you lose because you lost rps, because that hand wasn't doing anything into a board going second.

Actually a pretty good match! Not the die roll that you might expect, and a nice comeback from Dragon Link. Lack of cards like Forbidden Droplet was glaring. Next matchup I fully expect a five minute video. Kashtira DOES have more vulnerabilities than Ishizu Tear, is relatively vulnerable to hand traps and board breakers. But I just don't think TriBrigade Zoo has the right interactions. Dimension Shifter is also just a killer. Drident Pass won't cut it. Tri Brigade should hope for two points

D link is just broken and one of the most skilled deck in my opinion in the history of the game. Both d link and tear are decks that doesn’t depend on 1c combo except for reinoheart and bmd it just ur combo depends on whatever u draw nothing really 1c combo dumb shit like what see today with snake eye and basically the last like 6 formats.
