A purrleasure. Nathan did a fantastic job for LR3 owners on this installation. There is a revised DFI kit now but its installation is essentially the same. Feel free to like and share, as we have some other installation videos as well. Cat Evolution is the Australian and NZ exclusive distributor and provides support for this amazing appliance for cat families.

real pity that it even came to that. I've found this litter robot to be the cheapest, most poorly engineered thing I've ever wasted $800 AUD on. Mother of god what a piece of garbage. It was less fuss to just scoop litter then by this thing that faults out every day with some new nonsense.

Great to hear you have self installed, with the Litter-Robot 3 designed to DIY providing good longevity. The DFI Has been redesigned so the green boards are fully encased to provide durability with varied quality litters, as Whisker.com are excellent in continuing to make improvements if reasonable, even with a new version released. Its a big uptick for the LR3 ;o)

Thank you for the video help! It was all I needed to get our 2007 Robot going. I had to slow down the video to 50%, which made the guy doing it sound drink which added some levity to the process. I am thinking that I must have done something wrong since I did not end up with any leftover parts. I will have to wait and see but right now it is a happy little Robot. We have 2 of them, the other one is newer. We have owned one, not the ones we own now, since 2003. They are fantastic and their customer service to amazing! Thank You Mr. Litter-Robot!

Thank you for your feedback, and slowing would definitely make the audio interesting! There should not be left over parts, except for the ones you removed and replaced. Well done as the DFI installation is the longer of Litter-Robot repairs as you access both base and motorwell, so you can now be confident of self installing if needed. Go you! And yes, yah to Litter-Robot and no scooping!

Amazing vid. I had replaced the DFI couple of years ago but now it failed. I had this time bought the DFI sensors version 2 . An improved version, the cards are shorter and insulated. Do you happen to have the v2 installation video? Tks.
@salescatevolution99772 жыл бұрын
sadly not released overseas yet, but coming.... my understanding is the installation is the same. Check your pinch detectors too!
@sbsani2 жыл бұрын
@@salescatevolution9977 l 'm from Singapore, just got it from Robot shop Japan. Its so much better from v1. Installation is a breeze and works perfectly. v2 is abt 1/3 the original size. The sensor card housing/bracket is slightly different. The pinch detector was totally rusted and got it replaced. I'm trying to fabricate a brass detector instead.
@salescatevolution99772 жыл бұрын
@@sbsani good to hear. Maybe we will have it available sooner than expected!
@salescatevolution99772 жыл бұрын
@@sbsani great to hear as we are looking to get these in for Australia and NZ. for the pinch detectors, I think they maybe brass under the silver metal coating. Brass oxidises which may slow the power tranfer. The best thing is to use good quality clumping clay litter that locks in the uric acid in cat pee, and keeps the odour and base cleaner.

@@salescatevolution9977 I agree. Thanks for the advice. Then I may try and use a stainless steel strips instead.

Thank you, purrleased to hear the video is helpful. For no power, check you have the plugs plugged in still in the motorwell, sometimes they can come loose when refitting the cover. You can also test if you open the motorwell, if you add the bonnet to complete the circuit. It can be helpful to unplug each plug to see if you can isolate the sensor that maybe the issue. Also check your power supply is correct. If needed you can send photos to support@catevolution.com.au and I can take a look. DFI, pinch, motorwell, underside are all good photos for review if needed.

First, the instructions on any video related to this are off because the wires and even the plastics pieces shown are not what’s in the newer versions of the LR3. So that took time figuring out. They need to update the videos. Second, I went through all of this to have the same issue; nothing has changed. At this point, I am highly dissatisfied with this product I’ve had less than 8 months.

Thank you for your feedback. I suggest you contact where you purchased the Litter-Robot as this video was created in Australia in 2021, with the process for the DFI version 1 similar but not the same for the revised (new version ) of DFI v2. Whisker.com is the manufacturer and can assist you further if you are not able to contact the company you purchased from (it appears you are USA based). If nothing has changed following installing the new DFI successfully, and you still have a flashing blue light, check you installed the DFI mainboard plug the correct way up. There is channel and groove to assist that need to be checked when installing. WE trust this assists.

The LR Cat Sensor DIY kit I received just has a wheel, a spring, a rectangular metal cover and a long screw. It is not what you are installing. What did I really get and how do I install this? My problem is the LR doesn't register the weight of lighter cats l. I've tried tightening the screw in the top is the drawer space but it won't go any tighter so they sent me this. Should they have sent me what you installed? Help!! Thanks!

Check your power supply for damage. Also turn on (no power) and feel the control buttons. If they are warm, there is power coming to the board ok. Check you have the DFI still plugged in the motorwell, as sometimes it comes out when you put the cover back on. Do ensure you add the tape to keep the wires clear of the black gear wheel.

Very clear instructions and video amazingly done. I loved the guest appearance of your kitty through the video :) - quick question, at minute 16.14 you said you can check if the DFI sensors are working by placing your phone on video mode. Do you put your phone where the tray would be? meaning the tray would not be inserted in the unit? Thank you
@salescatevolution99772 жыл бұрын
Hi Marisa, yes, you put your mobile phone into the cavity in the base after removing the waste drawer. Point camera at the left hand side DFI green board, and with the Robot on and your phone in camera mode, you should be able to see the infa read beams flashing as 4 blinking reddish lights, along the left side board. They are not visible to the naked eye. Thank you for your video comment, Nathan does a great job and his cats are devine!

do you have blue and yellow solid or just yellow? if just yellow check you have the dfi plugged into main board right way up. if 2 solid lights you are in sleep mode. Press and hold CYCLE 3-5 seconds until 1 light goes out.

@@Catevolution1 just solid yellow, dfi is plugged in correctly as it only fits one way. It is a newer updated model dfi as the circuit board is different. Much more short not as long. Controls do not work, app does not work saying robot is off

I could really really use some advice please . I'm honestly starting to get so cross and frustrated . I finally received my replacement dfi and pinch sensors..sat yesterday and replace both the pinch brackets and the dfi . The pinch sensors are touching as they should be and the wires connecting to them are secure . As is the one to the control panel . My litter robot is still not working .. Still a constant flashing blue light as if the waste drawer is full . I don't proclaim to be a expert but I've stripped down xbox and switch controllers and rebuilt with no issues so I have a bit of experiencing with electronics. I can't work this out and I'm about to throw this thing into a dump . Please help

Do make sure you have the DFI plugged into the mainboard the right way. The dark wires should be uppermost with the brighter wires close to the wide bottom of the mainboard. There is a channel and groove that line up on plug and socket if you look closely to help. If not sure, unplug and turn upside down and replug to test.
