While traveling to my hometown Patna by train a co passenger asked about history behind litti choka and I was blank on it. After that I searched on internet and found that it was developed for warriors who travelled long distances. It requires minimum water and no cooking utensils. It is highly energetic and doesn't spoil for long time.
