I had to quit watching the anime because the fandom got out of hand and I was a kid, and I felt unsafe around the adults who objectified the characters who are almost the same age as me at the time (now I'm the same age as them). I was a manga fan prior to the anime release and I noticed that when the anime got popular, the fandom that developed from that was HEAVILY toxic - it was so bad that I actually stopped being into MHA content for a couple years- I got back into the fandom like over a year ago and its been a lot different, of course I do still see a couple toxic people here and there, but it's definitely more tolerable now.
