"The Connecticut Collegians" (Jay Wilbur) performing the obscure tune "Little Dutch Clock". This is an 8-inch record from the "Eclipse" label, which was established in the UK for Woolworths if I'm correct. I'm unsure as to when this record is actually from, but 1934 seems to be a rather good guess. The record is, unfortunately, rather worn on both sides.
Here is the flip side: • Boo! Boo! Boo! Here Co...
Lyrics (Transcribed from the record):
I know of a little old Dutch clock,
Where two little wooden lovers dwell
Every time the hour strikes, out they pop
A young Dutch boy and a dainty Dutch girl!
As each stroke is started,
They both kiss
Each other!
Till with a jerk, they're parted
And back in the little Dutch clock!
When the hour of midnight starts to chime,
Their twelve kisses seem to never stop
What a pretty way to pass the time
Those two have in the little Dutch clock!
A wooden Dutch boy
Wooden Dutch girl
In the Dutch clock on the wall
Never miss a chance
To further their romance!
When the hour strikes
Out they both whirl
Steal a kiss then with a shock
A jealous spring goes "click!"
And they're back in the little Dutch clock
How their little clockwork hearts would fret
If their kissing ever had to stop
So they'll hope the good folks won't forget
To always wind up the little Dutch clock!
