Lowell George could sang - not sing, but sang! I'm 68. I discovered Little Feat in the early 70's before Lowell died. Oh, my goodness, what a phenomenal band. I hope you check out more of their music.

One of the best concerts I ever attended was L. F. and Bonnie Raitt at the Fox Theater in Atlanta GA. Hearing Lowell and Bonnie singing Guilty together was sublime.

I totally agree. Little Feat was one of my favorite band and still is. I will always warmly remember Lowell George. I saw them live in October, 1978. I had just given birth to my son 9 days prior. Nothing would have kept me from seeing them in concert. Lowell died not long after. Their music always brings a smile to my heart.

Perhaps the single greatest concert I’ve been to, Little Feat was a pre-band for the Rolling Stones show in Stuttgart, W.Germany in 1976. I still jam with them these near 50 years later. RIP to the guys who’ve passed on. You can keep the Stones.

Spanish Moon was a fictional club with whisky and bad cocaine. This was one of Little Feat's biggest hits. Funky jazzy, totally entertaining. Love the bass, the drums, the guitars, reminiscent of the 70's sound, that blasted the clubs back then. Great reaction Harri.Thanks Harri and Bushy. Fantastic song. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

Had the good fortune to see Little Feat with Lowell George on their tour to promote this live album, "Waiting For Columbus", unfortunately no Tower Of Power Horn Section at my show, but it was still one of the greatest of the 500 or so concerts I have attended. Without a doubt. I enjoyed it so much i have seen Feat another ten times since, all without the late , great Lowell. RIP Lowell, Paul Barrere and Richie Heyward. Other members of Little Feat, Bill Payne, Kenny Gradney and Sam Clayton. Great band, great music and great times.

The correct way to hit "Dixie Chicken" is off Waiting for Columbus, paired with "Tripe Face Boogie" - it'll be 15 minutes well spent. "Fat Man in the Bathtub" is my forever favorite, though, followed pretty closely by "Rock and Roll Doctor." For a really good studio cut, try "Easy to Slip."

And George played in "The Mothers of Invention" with Zappa. I heard one story that Zappa let him go because of his drug use. The other story was that Zappa read the lyrics to "Willin" Maybe a bit of both stories.

Don't know if Spanish Moon actually existed, but Little Feat had some notoriously wild times in Houston, so I always imagine it there. There, or New Orleans.

This was my father's all time favorite band. I grew up listening to all of their stuff I remember being at his house as a kid and him asking me what I wanted to listen to and it was either the MTV album (Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms) or the tomato soup album (Waiting for Columbus - Little Feat) I just couldn't get enough..he's been gone almost 3 years now and I couldn't be more thankful for him giving me the love of music that I have.
@CuriousGeorge111110 ай бұрын
Harri, this is widely regarded as one of the five best live rock albums--the production and performance of these songs is IMO better than their studio originals. Lowell George was an unappreciated master, blending funk, southern rock, and jazz into something unique and wonderful. If you want to back in more funk, brilliance, and tawdry tales, I heartily recommend Dixie Chicken, and Fat Man In The Bathtub. I appreciate you. 🙏

So good to see your reaction to the Band that inspired me to attend music school and become a singer -- on the Warner Brothers label, they introduced me to the most talented musicians, and bands! Dixie Chicken was the song everybody knew - take a listen - lyrics always SLAY! Lowell George was one of the best slide guitarists ever, his influence still lives in Bonnie Raitt, who I still see performing today. All the women singers who wove the fabric of my youth - Emmylou Harris, Linda Rondstadt, Bonnie Bramlett -- they all gave me a career! Kenny Gradney, bass player extrodinaire and Richie Hayward - my favorite drummer bar none were the tightest rhythym section in a band EVER!!!!!!!! There's so much more! Keep it up HarriBest! I'm a fan forever now!
@danmayberry1185 Жыл бұрын
A lovely comment to Harri. You have some lofty stable-mates at Warners, and had iconic singers to grow up on - nice to know the synergy continues. Susan Tedeschi geeked out on Mahalia Jackson, as I coveted Bonnie's slide before I knew she sang - guess that guitar player sure could play.
