Very true. And I liked how they showed that privilege. Can’t remember if it was this one or the one previous where Bebe was 70c short to buy formula was basically ridiculed for it and when Izzie was 70c short for the bus the driver forgave the charge.

Only that Mia had the privilege of good choices and options. And didn't use them. And like Elena doesn't want to take any responsibility, in typical narcissistic manner, she would blame everything else. When I first saw this clip, I would assume she came from as harsh an upbringing as she FORCED her daughter to have. Almost homeless, abusive hoesehold etc. Patterns that force you to make bad choices. No she came from a middle class normal family, sitting on 400k photo. Letting her daughter have the homeless experience and no safety or stability in her formative years just for the fun of it.

Mia stole a baby from a couple who were fighting infertility. That's not choice made out of socio-economic conditions. She could've used the money the couple gave her to complete her education and could've had a comfortable life. Pearl would've had a comfortable life too , with Joe and Maddie.

Sorry but I actually think that Bebe was wrong on how she confronted the problem with Mei Ling. True. She was her mother but she was incapable of taking care of her on her own. The foster mom had already bonded with her and truly bonded with the child. I’m not saying Bebe didn’t deserved to be a part of her life, just that she could have found a way to have both of them be Mei Ling’s mother. I didn’t liked that whole there can be only one vibe because in either way, Mei Ling wasn’t getting her best life

I read the book, but this adaptation was way beyond expected. Was kinda hoping Izzy actually found their car in the road in the end and when Bebe stole her baby back could have been more dramatic. Also, who'd choose Trip over Moody? A great one nevertheless, I wish it got more hype.

Mia had the privilege of good choices and options though. She always placed her needs above her daughters, a terrible mother. And just like Elena, she doesn't want to take any responsibility. in my opinion, the creators seem to make us love Mia and hate Helen. but in fact, Mia is a very controversial character and she does not have many positive qualities. she’s arrogant, angry and aggressive. Yes, Elena has negative traits in her character, but her motives can at least be understood. but to love Mia only because she is black and to hate Elena because she is white is somehow not logical.
@aliciasmith3274 жыл бұрын
She hates Elena, because Elena assumed she was poor. Elena assumed that since she was a Black single mother, she was poor. Did you notice how Elena changed from passive to aggressive when she found out Mia was rich? Elena only accepted Mia, because she thought she was helping a poor single Black mother.

@@PhilJLF Yes, all the time. The funny part is white people don't need to be rich to feel entitled. That's why they love dogs more than people. They feel compelled to "own" something, and dogs are more obedient than people. That's why people starve while others spend millions on dogs. God made animals with the instinct to hunt. Humans want to break the animal's instinct to do what comes naturally to them and own them. Or make others who aren't like them into a pet-like object with no regard for how they really feel. NEWSFLASH: Your dog HATES you.
