After they charge the net, has one ever pulled it up high enough to allow another hog to escape under it? I suppose the more slack in the net, the better it is to ensure no escapees.

Knock on wood never had an escape. And there is plenty of slack on the bottom of the net. Not to mention it is staked on every other t post inside the trap. Net slides up and down the inside stakes letting hogs in but lays flat on the ground so they can't root out.
