Lol.... it's definently a good one! Luckily, they came during the day so I could get good footage. It doesn't always work out like that. I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you haven't subscribed, please do. I should have another catch coming Monday with the net of over 20 hogs. Stay tuned.

This is during the day? I thought hogs were nocturnal?
@carolinahogstopper27095 күн бұрын
This was late in the evening. It is not unusual for hogs to come out in the day. It all really depends on the pressure they have on them. Where I am currently conditioning hogs, they came out at 2 pm and again at 4 pm and not so much at night. One time after I put corn out at the trap, it was literally minutes before a group of 20 plus hogs came to the corn. I believe they can actually be so close that they heard me come and leave. This has happened many times. Hogs are one of the smartest animals on earth. Be sure to subscribe. I have another catch coming Monday of over 20 hogs if all goes well. It will be with my net trap. Have a Merry Christmas!

Yup... I think it was about that time I was driving up he was warning the others I like how they communicate to push together on the net to try and push through. I've seen that many times where they are very organized. You can see it in some of my other videos if you watch closely. They are not always just running around crazy.

They sure stress test the net towards then end, including the overhead section! Is the net cheap and only good for a few captures or can it withstand that kind of abuse on a regular basis?
@carolinahogstopper2709Ай бұрын
I have more than one net, but I also still have my original net that I bought several years ago and still use it with no issues. These nets stand up to even the biggest hogs. I have no complaints.

I wonder if every pigs got in or some just walked past. Hard to tell because some of the footage was skipped.
@carolinahogstopper2709Ай бұрын
The trail camera I was using would only record for so long, then there would be a 5 second delay. So, I had to piece together the different sections of the video. I watched it live as it happened, and nothing went in when the video was in delay.

@carolinahogstopper27094 ай бұрын
Yea.... he was sick... when I opened him up, he had some kinda infection inside his chest cavity on his ribs. We ended up just getting rid of him. Usually, all the hogs I catch go towards feeding families. But not this one.

can someone tell me why they are not able to get out though they can get it? Not smart enough to poke their nose under the net from inside? @carolina hog stopper
@carolinahogstopper27094 ай бұрын
Basically, the net is curved inward and staked down on the inside of the trap in a way that the net will slide up the stakes and drop back down flat. It is also stretched enough with the stakes to not let them get their nose under it to get out. Also, they are standing on the net when trying to get out. I find locations where the ground is flat so it doesn't let the net wrinkle on the bottom for them to get out. I hope this answers your questions. If you still have any questions, just let me know.

The beauty of this trap is two fold, one when they attempt to root under the net they are at the same time standing ON the net making it impossible to ever get under it and secondly when they run and then ram their heads into the net it doesn't cut into their noses like a steel wire would.

There is blood there, you just can't see it. KZbin actually limited my post because of it. Those hogs were dispatched about an hour after they were caught. Every one is them was taken to be processed for families in need, and none of the meat was wasted.

Yes, it works. But why are they killing these animals?
@carolinahogstopper27096 ай бұрын
Because they are considered a nuisance here, and they destroy over a billion dollars of crops a year in the US. It is actually illegal to remove a hog from a trap alive here in NC.
@Hunkiralyfi6 ай бұрын
@@carolinahogstopper2709 Yes, it's a difficult question. We, humankind, are expending, while free animals have less and less place where to live. I don't know, but maybe the good solution would be a win-win situation. Finally I think wild animals have right to exist in their natural environment. Otherwise thank you for your answer.

What is the net made of?
@carolinahogstopper27096 ай бұрын
Honestly, as far as I know, it's just a regular nylon net. I know I was told it was treated to help the UV rays from breaking it down over time. The strength of the trap is the design and how it works together. Give, but don't break kinda trap. If you want to know more about it, reach out to www.pigbrig.com. They are awesome and will answer any questions you have. If you ever decide to buy a trap, I have a link in my description that will give you an automatic discount on a trap.
