After watching the episode, it kind of makes sense. She doesn't have a reason to destroy or plot against Steven, yet. But that doesn't mean that she has to side with him either. In Little Homeschool, it seems that Jasper just has no interest in Steven's goals, but doesn't want to really stop him either. She may become Antagonistic later, but after that episode I think she's better off as an independent Anti-Hero rather than a full on Bad Guy.

Ikr, I've never watched Kiki's Delivery Service as in the anime, but when I saw the episode name I was like "Wait isn't that the name, or close to the name of an anime..?" And in the movie, an obvious easter egg is Spinel's evil transformation, is clearly meant to look like a Sailor Guardian transformation. I like how jasper, at least for now, isn’t exactly evil or good, but somewhere in between. Before, she wanted Steven gone, as well as his friends. But now, she just sort of stays to the side and lets them be. I think there will be another episode though where something sets jasper off, and she will show her true villainous side again, seen in the new opening theme song, where she is depicted as being much more sinister than in Little Homeschool.

I think this is what Jasper wants, a fair fight. She doesn't care if she loses as long as she has that fair fight. All her losses (besides the Lapis water punch), she had the disadvantage in numbers, and possibly her corrupting herself was her way of trying to even those numbers.

What I loved about Guidance was that like... it was showing it was okay to play a role you’re expected to have when it was your choice to do it. The circumstances are much more flexible and it’s actually putting into practice what Bismuth said blew her away about Rose. She talked about having to build extravagant structures for elite gems but Rose asked her what she wanted to make instead. Bismuth embraces her role as a builder by directing those skills into something she’s passionate about. The jobs on the boardwalk are definitely more social and leave more room for asking questions and allowed to openly act on curiosities or take a moment to just relax and enjoy everything around you. But also, I do like that Larimar did find a job that unexpectedly made her happier. It’s just like... idk this kinda thing is just some regular ass shit but I love it.
