Gary Usher and Brian Wilson wrote this and Gary usher used his troops to record it ( session men) Glen Campbell, Gary etc There was no group so Gary had to come up with one and presto the Hondells came to be

Personally, I prefer "Lil' GTO" but this one is fantastic as well. The Hondells version is a little bit better than The Beach Boys, IMHO.

Actually Brian wrote it and Mike contributed lyrics. Also Brian gave it the Hondells and had Gary Usher cut a track using some of the Wrecking Crew. Look up Chuck Girard, he sang lead on this.
