It really was, kids should watch it today but ashame they would prob find it boring, but it had so many positive messages to teach people in general, considering it was such a light-hearted show, actually dealt with some quite hard-hitting subject, especially for the time.

I loved her best in the Little House episode where she accidentally burned the barn some studying for test. She showed the exemplitory example of the obedient child by not taking the test. She reminded me of myself some in the end where she cried because she felt she disobeyed her mother by not telling Mrs. Beadle right away she couldn't take the test. I,too, as a child would have rather died than let my mama know I disobeyed her. That's respect. Mrs. Beadle always seem to be pushing for Mary to be her star pupil, and be a teacher.

She seems to be a likeable person, doesn't come off arrogant and seems to be humble about her place in acting. Not a showy person, just what you see is what you get.

Read what Melissa Gilbert said about her. I was shocked. Not sure where to locate it, but I think it was in a memoir by Gilbert. Or something. Really surprising and saddening. Apparently, not a nice person at all.
@LilyZerep5 жыл бұрын
Alison Arngrim said in her book too that Melissa Sue isn't a nice person 😕
@lisakay10065 жыл бұрын
Lily Zerep what did she say about her,?
@SnowdropWood5 жыл бұрын
@@lisakay1006 Alison Arngrim didn't say that Melissa Sue Anderson isn't a nice person NOW, she said that they didn't get along when they were children. Melissa Gilbert trashes quite a few people in her book. I don't know what she said about Melissa Sue Anderson, but I'd imagine it's along the same lines as Alison Arngrim, because she and Alison were best friends as kids, and remain very close to this day. Alison Arngrim also said in her book that her aunt told her back in the day not to give Melissa Sue Anderson a hard time, because Melissa 'wasn't happy at home'. Alison recounts a time at a theme park where Melissa was eager to join in the fun with everybody else, but then her mother appeared and she suddenly shrunk back into herself and wouldn't join in. Melissa Sue Anderson was reserved and introverted as a child, and her mother was very overprotective and overbearing. Whereas Melissa Gilbert and Alison Arngrim were both extroverts with very lax parents. It was inevitable that there'd be cliques and clashes on set when they were all thrown together for long hours, in blistering heat, for months on end, while going through puberty! I believe there was probably some jealousy going on too, especially over boys. Alison had a huge crush on Radames Pera who played John Edwards Jr in Little House, and IIRC she said Melissa Gilbert did too. Melissa Sue Anderson had a lot of scenes with Radames, including kissing scenes. But she didn't like him, and Alison resented her for that, for some reason. Probably jealousy. It would hardly be the first time a tween/teen girl gang took a disliking to a strikingly beautiful peer. By all accounts Melissa Sue Anderson wasn't warm or friendly in those days, but she was a child for most of her time on LHOTP, and we have no idea what was going on in her personal life that might've contributed to that.
@elizaemmagee5 жыл бұрын
Of the LHOP cast interviews I've seen thus far, she comes across as the most humble, calm, and least self-absorbed. She's been married to the same man for nearly 30 years and candidly talks here about placing her family's needs ahead of her own self-inclinations. Juxtaposed against some of the other cast members, I'd take such gossip about her with a grain of salt.

Little House is one of those shows that is relatable to people young and old.The language or spoken English is the way it should be now we have words that are all messed up.Little House gives a sense of family life and what being a close family should be.In this day and age we don’t have that anymore.

I grew up watching the show, I will have to say at my age now the show really touched my heart and soul. I can't watch it without crying anymore, the show helped me fully understand what my mother was teaching me and my siblings about Family and life. This show and the Walton's, make me cry still today, because they were what being a real Family was about. Family being there for Family no matter what. And always helping those who needed help. They were great clean shows about Family and God . They were not afraid to put God And the Bible in them, I guess what I'm trying to say is that these 2 shows were really great family shows. As I said before too this day they still make me cry, I guess because I have watched my own family pass away through the years, And I miss the good old days, were running through the grass barefoot and feeling the grass on your feet was fun. I do miss them days.

I Agree, as for some of you. . . you're narcissistic-meanies! How rude just because some other's views differ from yours (scoff).

IMO Little House on the Prairie is without a doubt, one of the best TV shows ever aired. The show and characters just warm my heart through and through. TV today is trash. Melissa was a such beautiful girl back then and even today.
