@Conway Twitter Thanks for your reply to that comment. That person was right. Michael Landon did squeeze alot I to 54 years. It seems he was on tv his whole life and tried to bring morals to some of his shows. But I'm also glad you said what you said. Sometimes we really like celebrities when we might have an impact as well in our own way. We tend to forget that because most of us aren't rich or famous or " beautiful". But God can use us regardless. So thanks again

I will never forget this interview. Not long after this, a co-worker was diagnosed with the same issue, and was gone in four weeks. She came in after hours, cleaned out her office and mailed a letter to the staff later. It makes me cry to this day. She and I had been in a training prior to her going to the Dr. and she said.....I think I am really sick. later she called me and said she didn't have long to live and the Dr. and nurses were all crying when they told her. Her heart wrenching letter to us telling us not to forget her daughters and go to their sports. The last week of her life she invited us over and was toasting us as we drove away with her mountain dew. She asked to be left alone to spend time with her family after that. This was over twenty years ago and I still think of her every day

Who didn't love LHOTP. But alas Landon was a strange man. Apparently he had a cruel streak. Melissa Sue (Mary) said that as did Karen Grassle (Caroline). Landon reduced Karen's salary & scenes in season 2 & onwards
@minnamae252 жыл бұрын
@@susanford2388 research the character that played Mary and you will find that she wasn't liked by many of the staff. She was known for being snooty and very uptight. Karen, also complained about her character as Caroline because she felt like she was dominated over Charles. She is like your typical Hollywood celebrity with their woman need to be treated equal bullshit. Well your playing the role of a pioneers wife. In those days, you worked from home and the man of the house was in control and had more say. So i can't blame him for not being as nice to the complainers. He was noted as being a man that worked hard and expected the staff to work just as hard. Everyone else that was a part of that show had amazing thing's to say about him. But just like any Hollywood celebrity, they are all bought and paid for by the devil. We don't watch much tv in this house. We do however watch reruns of LHOTP and The Walton's A LOT!

Sick thing is. Government know there’s a cure for cancer. Google ‘Cancer Act 1939.’ Michael knew how to heal his body back then. It’s known that Dandelion milk juice kills cancer. And high vitamin C intravenous too. It’s a pity they didn’t have the internet back then. Such a brave man.

I have “chronic” pancreatitis. I am taking Creon for it with every meal including snacks. I have some episodes of left upper pain right under my rib cage where the stomach is. The pancreas is in deeper. I guess my fate is sealed cuz my Dad died at 68 y.o. from Pancreatic cancer. He was so ill. He died in 3 months from diagnosis. I bet he had the chronic form like I have, but he never complained of pain. I worry that the chronic pancreatitis I have will turn into cancer as well🥺It is a risk factor for it. All in all, the chronic form is a progressive destruction of the pancreas. How long I live until it kills me is a crap shoot. Everybody is different, but it will eventually self-destruct. I feel so bad for Michael Landon. I saw the horrific way my Dad died from it. It was so heartbreaking to see cuz he was never ill until he got this death sentence. 😢

I grew up watching re-runs of Little House and Bonanza. His role as Charles Ingalls had such an impact on me. My father was abusive and abandoned my sister and me when we were young. Pa was and always will be my dad too lol I'm sure others can relate to that ❤

Michael talks about having 9 kids at the time. In 1967 he brought his family to Expo in Montreal. I was a host in the Ontario Pavilion on a day off, and I was ushering my sister around the fair. Cass had mobility problems. I had left her sitting in one of the fair wheelchairs while I went to run an errand, which took me a couple of minutes longer than I expected. When I came out, Cass was nowhere to be found & I panicked. So I'm searching for her and a fair-goer told me they thought they saw her with a family at a nearby fountain. (What?) Sure enough there she was - in the company of Michael Landon, his lovely wife and their 5 kids! He was smiling, gracious, and sorry for worrying me, but Cass was having a blast. He had been wheeling her around, thinking I had missplaced her. I'll always remember his kindness and that warm smile. His was a sad loss, and one of the first celebrities to talk about pancreatic cancer. It claimed our mother in 1991. Love seeing these old clips from The Tonight Show. Johnny was a regular in our home in the evening.

I still remember the day they announced Michael Landon had pancreatic cancer. I followed the entire story. He was interviewed and vowed to fight it and win. Everyone was praying for a miracle. Then it was announced that he'd be making an appearance on Johnny Carson. We were all hoping that he'd tell us good news, that he was going to be okay, but sadly that wasn't the case. I really do believe Michael Landon and Patrick Swayze were the last of the truly strong male actors we had to display quiet, wholesome masculine strength on television. My parents had John Wayne and then there was a void to fill and they did a damn fine job filling it. Television hasn’t really been the same since their untimely deaths due to the same illness. RIP Michael and Patrick 💕

I saw this interview the night it happened and Michael Landon's appearance, attitude and energy level at the time convinced many of us who were watching that he still he still had quite a while left to live. If you'd have asked me at the time, I'd have told you I think he'd still be alive at least another year or even longer, which is why, even though he'd been so open about having cancer, myself and quite a lot of others were still somewhat surprised when he died less than 8 weeks later on July 1st 1991. Knowing more about cancer than I did then and realizing in hindsight how serious his diagnosis was, it now seems naïve that I could have been shocked by his death, but back then I thought if you looked and sounded "good" it meant it was early days in the fight and that you still had more time.

Johnny was on vacation from the Tonight Show when Michael Landon died. At the end of the first show that he did when he came back, I remember that at the end of the show he memorialized Landon, as well as his son, who had just died in an automobile accident. I wondered how Johnny was going to handle it, and he did the show as normal, and waited until the end to say his piece about his late friend and son. It was a class act by Carson. @timcarr64014 жыл бұрын
It is demeaning and disgraceful to take holy things and treat them as common. For instance taking the Lord's Name in vain is an abomination whether you realize it or not. Likewise heaven needs to be used with the Bible's meaning. As I had said; it's trite to make comments such as he'll now be in heaven with Hoss, Hop Sing, Adam and Pa. Likewise when Franco Columbo died comments were made that he'll be lifting with the other deceased bodybuilders in glory. Most folks have no perception of how sinful their common expressions are. Now granted, MM didn't use the word 'heaven,' he said "He's now with...." That is usually meant as a reference to Heaven. I can't imagine he meant Hell. But Hell would be the probable destination of those who say inane things like MM did.

I watched this show when it aired and was so sad when he passed two months later. He was the best example of how to be a REAL HUMAN BEING! ❤😢
