Little House on the Prairie: Then & Now

Little House on the Prairie about a family living on a farm in Plum Creek near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, in the 1870's, 1880's and 1890's. The show premiered on the NBC television network on September 11, 1974. The series was preceded by a two hour pilot tv movie which premiered on March 30, 1974
In the 8th season of the show, Michael Landon took a back seat to acting on the show to concentrate on behind the scenes work on Little House such as writing, producing and directing. With Landon not acting much on the show anymore, the series was renamed "Little House: A New Beginning".
After 10 years on the air, Little House aired its final one hour episode on
May 10, 1982. To properly conclude the series, three made for television movie followed in 1983 and 1984.

Little House: The Last Farewell airdate: 02/06/1984
Little House: Bless All the Dear Children airdate: 12/17/1984
Although Little House: The Last Farewell was originally filmed last and was supposed to be shown last, NBC made the choice to air it as a Christmas special given its Christmas related theme.
