I love your story about how each year you added a new enthusiastic host for this readathon. I watched Mitzi's announcement this morning. I will participate. The next books I plan to read in the Little House series are On the Banks of Plum Creek and By the Shores of Silver Lake. My local library does have the group book on its shelf right now plus thirteen other copies at other branches, so will definitely pick one up. Look forward to February with you all. D.

I think Little House in the Big Woods was the 1st chapter book I read. I have such fond memories of reading her books.

Great! My daughter and I are currently reading By the Shores f Silver Lake, so I’m going to pick up the group book and it’s perfect timing for me.

I used to drive near Burr Oak for a month in 1994. We lived in Clinton, IA at the time and I started working for NCR in Minneapolis/St. Paul. I would go near Burr Oak every Sunday on my way up to the Twin Cities and on Fridays on my drive back to Clinton. I then was offered a position in the Mason City, IA office. I was born and raised in Mason City, so I had no problem with that and moved my family there. Burr Oak is just a little north of Decorah, IA, just south of the Minnesota state line.

I am really excited about the readathon. I am going to read Old Town in Green Groves and Pioneer Girl By Bich Minh Nguyen and possibly re-read some of the Little House series.

Hey, Elizabeth! 😊I enjoyed participating for the first time last year and plan to participate again this year. If I can get my hands on the group read, I think that is what I'll read. If not, I'll reread Farmer Boy since I recently reread The Little House in the Big Woods.

This is so inspiring. I’ll be using “APrairie Devotional” written by Wendi Lou Lee (one of the twins that played baby Grace) for all of February. I don’t think I’ll have room in my February TBR for more, sadly.

I’ve read the group book so I’ll be reading a book called Laura’s Shadow that I won in a goodreads giveaway awhile back. The tv show was good as a family drama series, but I remember even as a kid being upset about how far it deviated from the books.

I suggest reading Little House on the Prairie this year and then Farmer Boy next year. That way you'll be ready for the trivia we're doing during the Livestream.

I will not be able to read the Old Town in the Grove as my eyes have to read on Ereader and it is not an ereader book😢. But I will read something else😊
