When you're driving through France, you guys should really consider staying or stopping in at the Chateau de Lalande, it would be a great collab, and I think you'd appreciate all of the historical aspects of the chateau. Stephanie could connect you with a lot of other pretty amazing Chateaux as well.

So very beautiful!! I took care of an elderly Italian couple for three years, until they passed. She would sit on her kitchen chair and teach me how to make pasta piselli, pasta pomodoro and eggplant parmesan the proper Italian way. He loved his garden. One day I'll visit Italy in their memory.

Just returned from 2 months in Fivizzano your video reminds me of the great time we had there .we recognise the antique market ..we were there.... and the regular Tuesday market. we had coffee at the next table to you at Cafe Elvetico. For 2 years during the pandemic we didn't visit our house but thanks to your videos we were able to get glimpses of Fivizzano life.

Julie- I love that you painted out the wood cabinet on the wall. Otherwise one's eye would go immediately there. As a designer, I think anything on a wall such as this, should blend in to the wall colour. Canadian & American with British roots , not that it matters. I love watching the renovation

it’s all so lovely! some thrifted glass vases can look like pinkish or purplish glass but are irridized from the sun. older glass often contained manganese and turns color from excess light, collectors call it “sun purpled” and consider the glass actually ruined from a collector’s value standpoint. but of course great for casual decor.

WOW!! It’s really starting to come together Julie!! I love the colours you’ve chosen, as they’re so pretty, but also relaxing as well. Pop in some Bubbles & a Bath Bomb & that Bathroom will be such a relaxing haven. I can’t believe you put that top on top of the Wardrobe either. & to think...The you know what Physiotherapist I had to deal w/in the Fall both scoffed at, & also made fun of, doing Yoga when he asked if I was able to do any kind of Exercises at Home. First time he did that to me, I asked him if he’d ever done a Downward Dog. When he snottily said no, I told him to look it up & then try to tell me Yoga isn’t a true form of Exercise. That wasn’t the only run in we had. I was born w/a Bone Disease & done my fair share of Physio after Orthopedic Surgeries, so I know the difference beteen a good Physio & the bad ones. I ran into one of my old ones a few weeks ago. I told her what had happened & she wasn’t happy. Especially as she’s his Boss. Which I honestly didn’t know. She said she’s gotten more than few complaints about him, but how he spoke to me the last time I had the misfortune of working w/him, she said it was time to sit him down hard & lay down the Law. He’s been more than warned about how he does things, so... Anyway, when I told her what his opinion on Yoga was, she doubled over laughing. She then asked me, “Please tell me you told him 99% of what we tell our Patients to do ARE Yoga exercises?” I didn’t, because I knew he wouldn’t believe me. I told her that she could do that during their “little chat”. Wish I could see his face when she does... 😈 So yeah...Yoga does build up muscles & stamina &...You know. 😁 Can’t wait to see how the bed looks & ties in everything in the Bedroom. I have my Dad’s Wrought Iron Bed that he used growing up on the Farm & I love it so much. They truly are timeless pieces aren’t they.? Also give great support too. I LOVE those prints/Dried Flower Art you got. Can’t wait to see them framed & up on your wall. It’s really coming together & looking so beautiful & cozy. Can’t wait to see the next instalment!! Thanks for bringing us along & Take Care!! 😊

I, too, love flea markets and old things, especially knowing they must have a history. Besides, buying antiques and/or old things is a gentle way of recycling. You didn’t have to chop down a tree to build your bathroom vanity or your bedroom furniture. I myself do this exact thing. I love my antiques unique in every way especially my oak sleigh bed. I love your videos detailing your journey in restoring your Italian hideaway in a beautiful village. Thank you for sharing.

Sometimes the bubbles in the paper you put in the drawer can be fixed by poking a straight pin or thin needle in the middle of the bubble. I have used this little trick a number of times and when the air escapes the bubble flattens. Might bei worth a try.

Wow!! Kudos to you for putting that wardrobe together. Impressive, yoga arms and all. The place is really coming along, I am so envious of all the brocantes/antique shops you have in Europe that are affordable and make repurposing older pieces easy and affordable. I live in NYC and every antique shop within a three hour drive hikes their prices so high you end up buying new. Sometimes I find a piece on the street and repurpose it. Can't wait to see the finished product (or is it ever really finished?) especially that gorgeous four poster bed.
