I can see Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand and Lara Fabian each working hours with an orchestra in a studio coming up with an arrangement like this. Angelina thought about the song, figured out what she wanted to do with it. Gave the arrangement to the small band playing behind her and they went out to a remote location backed by an open space of something that makes us think it's a farm. She sang it to a select audience (?) and proceeded to produce an unbelievably great rendition of this Adele song. Just in a days work for her (maybe half a day). NO ONE LIKE HER. What was she here, 13? That was the outfit she wore when she performed Bohemian Rhapsody on AGT. "Hmmm, what will I do today? Maybe write a song. Yes, that's a good idea." NO ONE LIKE HER. only Angelina...

Boris loaded the video up on a Thursday 18.07.2019 .. so the Concert was pretty sure that weekend before .. and of course Angelina was at age 13,5 .. so far I remember the recording for AGT Audition was around October / November 2019 but the Broadcast was in January 2020 .. and you are also right with saying there ia only one .. @@mtsteuerung6916 The Prøysenhuset concert was on 2019-07-12 (a Friday). Her "Bohemian Rhapsody" AGT performance was reportedly recorded on 2019-10-03 (a Thursday). Two new (at the time) AJ reacters, John and Lulu of React to the World, actually ran into Angelina in the AGT venue quite a bit earlier, on 2019-09-10 (see the video with the title beginning "Meeting Angelina Jordan For The First Time: Storytime Reaction!" on their channel). She claimed to be there just to watch the show and not to perform (and at the time, I guess that was technically true).

I've seen/heard the original before Boris did some editing to dampen the band and enhance her volumn, and what he did raised this to another level. Easily one of my all time favorite Angelina performances.

I agree that there is something special happening here. This whole concert is at another level. You should check out her "Shield" encore from this concert. It's my favorite version of that original. Her voice plays with the words. So glad that Boris was allowed to film there. He was just on Wrapped in a Warm Blanket.

I`m not sure I`ve seen any of these guys accompany her before this consert, other than the guitarplayer that is. He was on stage with her at 9 years old. I know of course there is`nt videos from every consert she ever did.

I have always loved her performances of all the songs from this event. She did “Shield” and at the end when it became time for the encore, she asked what song they wanted to hear and the request was to do “Shield” again. It was a small crowd and an intimate performance. This is my favorite version of this song by anyone, anytime (including Angelina). I think it's because she is more into the song and not so much the performance of it. I'm pretty sure there was considerably less pressure on her here than there was in Vegas. 😊😊

Yes I agree , no one can top this masterpiece even Angelina now,, When an artist creates a masterpiece painting of perfection , you do not go back and repaint it again , i.e. the Moma Lisa could not be repainted nor should be , a vocal masterpiece as this was, is the same. This is not to say that Angelina is faltering now, it just means perfection does not need or can be repeated nor can it the same again, Angelina is so focused and in the zone here with no pressures as she must have felt on the Vegas stage that Elvis and other greats performed on, The Vegas one stands on its own as great but will not surpassed this one when she was younger, with not the pressures and distractions she must have been under there to please everyone with her performance, Thanks Arab Man, love your reactions..

I attended both the Vegas concerts and Angelina’s stage presence was phenomenal,When AJ sang ( When We Were Young) a amazing performance, but the performance reminded me of Angelina’s performance at 13 years old in the live Norway concert,which has always been my favourite from AJ , so I agree there is something amazingly special about this performance,I would say this performance now is still my favourite version, Angelina has so much emotion and soul in this performance, great reaction thanks 🙏

"In the flow" -- every song she performed in this special concert has that quality. I hope you react to more of them. Also, the venues and backup bands are so different. Angelina did the perfectly Vegas-tuned performance there. Here she blends with her natural environment, quieter accompanists, and a smaller crowd. This concert and this song are jewels in her crown.

There is an actual physiological phenomenon that takes place when she's hitting those notes right when she says, "let me photograph you in this light" that particular range of pitches she also does the same thing and All I Ask and it tugs at the heart strings and can quite honestly, draw tears from you against your will. This is a very special performance. And particularly this song from this whole concert. She seems to go totally into her own zone here and something magical happens.. It seems to me she almost like forgets there even any audience at the place and she just sings this so beutifully.. And the instruments are not very loud and her singing really is what comes forward so fine here. This song in this concert is one of her best live performances ever, I think. She has many very good live performances but there is something very special here.

Maybe Angelina was much more relaxed, being out in the woods of Norway, instead of being on the same stage in Vegas where Elvis performed. She was certainly deep in her special world while singing here in Norway. Watch her snap back to reality after the few couple seconds of applause. Maybe this version is better because she is 13 years old and still with a strong connection to her musical instincts. As we get older, we begin to think too much and our instincts are not as strong. Regardless, this performance is awesome. Story telling at its best.

I also tend to enjoy her earlier performances more. She may be trying harder now to be better and losing some of the natural flow. But also the LV show was indoors with echos andx a band she had not worked with much. The sound is better outdoors withno echo. I expect that her best performances will be in Norway with either KORK or her favorite jazz band.

Thank you for this Boudy. This truly is a wonderful week. I just finished being bathed in the total darkness of North America’s 2024 total solar eclipse. I was *directly* in its path here in Buffalo New York. It was truly mesmerizing and spiritual… made even more so by playing Angelina singing “Ain’t No Sunshine” (the version with the cello accompaniment). 👣Angelina at 13, and this was her last full consert for 3 years, as she appeared again in Norway after the pandemic. Luckily she spent her loch-down years very well. Beside appearing at the AGT, the releas the TRXD singel "Above The Water" was her second "shock wave" that month of January 2020. She continued her realeses of cover videos and did signe with RR later that year we got not only her two next originals, but was blessed with some real exeptional covers from her as well, in proper studio quality as well. (Not that her former cover-videos was bad in any way. Not at all). And of course her Christmas/New Years consert in 2021 was epic👣 🤗

I love to hear Angelina with acoustic instruments because you really hear her at her best. Angelina seems to be more comfortable with the simplicity of it all. She was a lot more laid back in this performance and also was singing this much more softer than her Vegas performance. When she sang this in Vegas, she was a lot more powerful in her vocal tone. Her vocal projection was a lot more louder. Not sure if it was a choice or just the fact that her voice has changed in regards to certain tones, or a combination of both. For this video, the band was a lot smaller than the one in Vegas. Another thing, this version is shorter than the one she did in Vegas as well. Also, around this age range when she sang this, some people were complaining that you sometimes couldn't hear what she was singing because she was so soft. I personally like both versions....2 different interpretations that I enjoy!

The band she played with in Norway in the summer of 2022 was the same one she played with in Norway just after her album release concert with the Military Band when she was 12. This was a 1-time gig with this band so I don't know how well she knew them.

For me, her performance of this wonderful song (my favorite Adele song) at the Westgate was the best of the show. But I think this one is better (IMO). The first time I watched/heard it (over 100 times now) I found myself sobbing. The crescendo is MAGNiFICENT!!! and her vocal fry is soooo Wonderful! Boris has done some editing (enhanced her voice and damped the band some) to make this even better than the original. She probably got a standing ovation on this, and when you watch her at the end, in her usual unassuming way, she gives that "who me" expression. It's almost like she doesn't know how good she is. I've been following Angelina for over 4 years now, and this performance is in my Top 5. STUNNING!!!

I have a theory. The Vegas show was a big step. There were alot of songs and perhaps she prepared really well because of the strain of so many songs would have in one day. Preparation would mean that she was less willing to extemporise. Not for her first big Vegas show. This bodes well for a future when Angelina is on firmer footing.

Totally agree with you. Although the performence in Vegas probably was her best performence there, this is the best version she has done of this song. Obviously her voice has changed since this performences. Today she is more raspy, and use a lot more of her chestvoice. This version she used more of her headvoice and less rasp. So for my personal reference, i think this version flows better and is more pleasant to listen to.

I agree with you. This version is more free and flowing that the one at the Westgate. Beautiful, beautiful performance 🥰 Maybe it was the simplicity of the accompaniment, the outdoors environment or just that she connected more with the song. The Westgate concerts and all her performances were truly outstanding,, no doubt about that. Loved every song. 💗But I wonder if two shows back to back with so many songs each is perhaps too much strain on her voice and focus.

I hope there is never a time that I can listen to an entire song by Angelina clear eyed. It would have to be, if it happened, that some part of me, an important part, had died. I have always loved this performance but thought her Vegas performance was more lush, rich in tone. None of this really matters, she is just a joy to listen to any where, any time, any age. And some day I will actually get to listen to her live, and get a better appreciation of what real joy and beauty are.

This whole concert was phenomenal! Notice that she has the outfit on that she wore on AGT. She was definitely in a groove at that age. Here you can clearly hear the low notes that were kind of lost in the Westgate performance. Delicious!

Thank you, Boudy! There is, indeed, a flow about this performance, like sitting on a river bank being at peace because of the f the feeling of tranquillity. I doubt any other singer will surpass Angelina's singing, but I heard and felt an "aggressiveness" in a number of her performances at Las Vegas.

I do know what you are saying and I agree other than the recent Nobel Peace Prize performance with an amazing orchestra backing I prefer the simplicity of accompaniment by a guitar or piano. For me the accompaniment needs to be subtle and nuanced. It is background only to support her vocals. I absolutely adore this girl/young woman and all she represents. Hi Bodey, Angelina changes words in songs to make it fit her better so it always seems like every song she covers is hers, Cuz she puts that Angelina Stamp on it. If ya noticed she changed the word in the verse I was Mad at getting old to I was Sad at getting old to fit her better cuz mad is too negative of a word for Angelina so she removed it and put Sad there. I wasn't at the LV concert but it's obvious from the recordings it was a great show. But yes, these earlier performances are very special. Gonna say something unpopular now. I wonder if the commercialism, the restraints of even her present contract, maybe some advice she's getting to pace herself isn't holding her back a little. She has seemed more free in previous concerts, more open to expressing herself more fully, or maybe it's just getting used to the new environment. In any event, we all love her and her music always.

Many factors are at play in my opinion. 38 songs in four hours. Meeting new fans from the US and from around the world. Norway and Oslo will always be home and more relaxed atmosphere at that time. I remember getting a questionary from her team to vote on concert in Vegas. I did attend but not a place for me. Had a wonderful time though on this visit. And I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Not for Vegas but for Angelina. She obviously had her eyes on Vegas as a goal.

I believe it has everything to do with the band. She flows much better when she is not having to compete with the band. The smaller ensemble compliments her voice perfectly. The large band she has recently been performing with in Portsmouth and Vegas overpowers her voice and competes for the sonic space. I agree with you that I can listen to this ne all day long.

This version is one of my favorites by Angelina. But I listened to this and the Vegas version barre by barre (sp?) and was surprised that the (child) in her voice just jumped out at me in the younger version. The maturity, color, and styling In the Vegas version--yes was very different but the essence of the piece remained firmly entrenched in the song. I understand the difference in the versions and what is loved about the first version--I love it as well. Not really sure I can explain it but I like the Vegas version much more and I think it is far better, but of coarse that is subjective and for my ears and heart only. All I know is that I keep listening to this new version and am unable to stop. Maybe one has to listen to both versions simultaneously to get an idea of why. At any rate, please don't waste the messenger. One last thing--I could not go to the concert so my envy bucket is overflowing all over the place😁 All the best.

Dear friend, it is an annual festival next to the hut of norwegian poet Alf Proysen (ProysenhusetFestivalen)😃, some 150km north of Oslo. AJ performed there whenever she could. I agree...flow. I prefer this version...the simplicity...she's not "putting on a show," but it seems like she's just in her element, FOR HERSELF, and we are the blessed recipients. I miss "this" Angelina. I actually cry whenever I hear this and I feel like, with her innocence still in tact, her essence is potent and pure.

Just me but both are beautifully done ,hear she is younger and the voice is lighter and younger, sweeter at Westgate the voice is gutty ,strong and womanly and more musical theater, and a powerful performance.

Well put. I can really hear the child in her voice when I compare her to her older self. I think that is the biggest difference. This is one of my favorite songs by her---but for the most part I like the Vegas version better esp when she squeezes that last note out with her chest at the end of one phrase. As far as trying to "please the crowd" I think she puts out the best version of the song as she sees it. And yes she is combining modern and old school but I see it as a new genre she is creating and it may bring people back to jazz as SRV brought people back to the blues with his guitar. By the way these 2 artists have a great deal in common as I have been hoping the above happens.

I totally agree. When I heard the one in 'Vegas I was disappointed and immediately listened to the one in my playlist. One of the best covers ever. So much emotion! And, when the new one plays, I look for the missing echo😄... She did this even with a mediocre band. It was a great outdoor concert at age 13. The concerts she would have been in in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled. The latter was scheduled to be with Lionel Richie. He canceled for 2022, when I was there for two of her concerts.

In all of the live concerts I’ve attended in my 70+ years every one was great fun and well done. What I’ve picked up on though is after a few years touring the performers are into more of a routine. They seem to put more focus on appearances and performance instead of interpretation of the songs. I agree every video of Angelina’s is wonderful, but over time even the best artists change their delivery. Sometimes because the learned a new technic or they just want a little variance.

Sometimes I think so too that some of her earlier performances were better. It depends on many things such as acoustics, tempo, the way the band is playing... to name a few. Being in the "flow" as you described it is another aspect of it. Good point.

Here she is in an informal outdoor setting with a minimum of musical accompaniment and you, as the listener, still walk away feeling she has brought forth more emotion laden penetration than Adele's original.

To me a big part of it had to be the pressure, She probably put on herself for the Vegas debut, but it doesn’t matter her. Worst day is better than anybody else’s, thank God for Angelina.

Thanks Boudy. No matter how often I listen to this one, it always gives me so many chills and goosebumps it feels like I'm about to molt out of my skin. (Sorry if that sounds gross; it's not meant to be, obviously). And, yeah, "simpler" instrumentals (as you eluded to) do tend to let Angelina's vocals shine the brightest, which they certainly are doing here. Having said that, I think she smoked it - albeit in a different way - in Vegas too. Have a great week. 👼
