Wish they expanded the monster world more instead of adding last minute unnecessary conflict (chewing up the report was fine I’m talking about the stupid baby scene) that scene literally threw away Maurice trying to comfort Brian as Maurice acted like an asshole again. You don’t always need something to fix a situation it’s okay to just be sad They could’ve included more kid things in the monster world as even if it’s supposed to be dimly lit it felt more like a nightclub than every kids fantasy and the only kid things shown down there were video games, junk food, and baseball

This is my absolute favorite movie of all time, literally every moment is perfect especially monster ball and the final fight and the credits scene with The Talking Heads, cant get over how amazing everything about this movie is and how under-appreciated it is

Oh my God same here like this just brings me back to childhood memories. Like the feeling I get with this movie is unlike any other feeling then it's beautiful I fucking love it. And the song I want to go I want to holla. And the other song where Brian's armed First turns to close and he's walking around looking depressed in that dress shirt or whatever. That song and I want to yell I cannot find them anywhere. They never actually made a recording these of those songs I think they just made it for the movie

Very, very late, but she is called Dog-Ear(s?), and originally had more of a role alongside Pumpkinhead in one of the earlier scripts for the film. Also in the script, she was originally male.

Me too as even if Maurice didn’t say goodbye forever (“When there’s a bed, there’s a way”) it still felt like it After the movie not too much merchandise was released but they did make a 6 issue comic series of an unofficial sequel where Boy and Snik survive. The art style was weird and sadly we didn’t get a Maurice backstory but we got Sniks. He was actually an adult when he got turned into a monster so basically anyone csn become one not just kids. It’s mostly kids as adults don’t believe in monsters so they won’t get easily lured by them. I believe Maurice was 19 when he got turned and he had that punk rebel life with family issues as he says “At least you have a family” him saying 11 was probably a joke as he acts older. Yeah Brian’s friends swear but none of them act like Maurice. Another thing that happened after Little Monsters was a sweepstakes. It came with this whole rap song and you got cool prizes if you dial 1-900-86-MAURICE. Some of the prizes were small like copies of the movie. Little standees and cutouts, and an autograph of Fred Savage. The big prizes were a trip to Hawaii and the pinball machine that Brian and Maurice played on in the one scene

Looks more like John Leguizamo then Howie Mandel playing Maurice. Lol......omg I just realized that the scene from the movie Spawn, where John Leguizamo plays the clown demon "Violater".... when spawn cuts his head off, he does practically the same melting/dying act as Howie does in the movie when Maurice almost dies from being exposed to the sun. Coincidence? Maybe not, maybe John was inspired by it!

How did they get away rating this as PG? Don't get me wrong, this is a good movie. But they swore a lot for that kind of rating (not to mention a middle finger). To think, I watched this as a kid without my parents noticing that.
@storyallegory6 жыл бұрын
Because the rating system in the US was lax/normal in the 80s, that was an end of an era. There were several "shits" in E.T., like the best kid movie of all time. Things got weird and puritanical in the tween range of entertainment in the 90s. Which is odd because media and advertising were hypersexualized everywhere else, but god forbid you say "shit"!

Besides the curse words all the subtexual pedo stuff flew under the parents radar as well lol! In ET little Barrymore says penisbreath! to one of her brothers. Maurice refers to girls as cheese in this movie as well as talking about playboy, the purpose of the world is to scare the hell out of children for sport... watch the movie and listen closely to the dialogue and the innuendo... this movie was made with a very strange intent...and you cant tell me Maurice's "skull" on his jacket isnt a bent over ass!!

This film had the same basic setup as monsters inc and similar characters...but it had no idea how to execute it, resulting in a critically scratched flop of less than 800,000 bucks! Pixar took the premise and with their smarts made a critically hailed success of more than 500 million bucks
