Little Paw Paw Lake With Scotty Bud

I got the chance to fish with Scotty Bud from 92.5 WZUU again. This time he chose Little Paw Paw Lake near Mattawan. I've fished it since I was a kid and have always struggled to find any big fish in it. Still, I expected we'd catch plenty of small bass to keep up busy. We had a few surprises this trip though.

I was there at the same time you were . Had I recognized you I would have said hello and thanks for the videos. Though not typical , I did catch a 5 pound, 1 ounce largemouth there back in April on that lake.

I went back to coldbrook today and tore them up man. nothing big like yesterday but got 2 over 16 (one almost 17) and several smalls probably sub 13” I did not measure the smalls. All on the worm and a few on the swim jig. Tried the jerk bait but the pike nailed it and I put it down. I had enough replacing treble hooks. Had to stay away at the moment with the fishing decent. I meet a guy buying a reel the other day and we are gonna hit Kalamazoo this weekend. I’m not sure where yet. Excited to have been able to get som fishing in and catch a couple it for sure feels good. Sorry for the long winded comment. If u happen to see a red camo kayak with a red crate and orange pole toot your horn brother, I’ll definitely say hello.

Glad the fishing has finally been good there for you. That's encouraging to hear. Maybe I'll make it out there again finally. Good luck this weekend and I'll try to remember to keep an eye out for your kayak on the lakes. Thanks for the fishing reports.

@@geezersbassin2567 yes sir u for sure need to try to hit coldbrook for sure. just the pike and the jerkbaits are the only drawback its hard to fish it without them just smoking the dog poop out of them and straightening the trebles and whatnot. i know your throwing a jerkbait alot i need to get better with them myself so just a heads up there. most of my damage is on a powerworm tequila sunrise color. texas rigged and just dragging it through the weeds, or along the weed line parallel. its oldtown red and black like camo scheme orange fishing pole i got several but the orange sticks out pretty good

There is monster largemouth in there, give it a shot in March-April

I'll try to believe you and remember it next spring but 30 years of not catching them there makes me skeptical, haha. It's probably just me though.
