Saw this when it was first played,on CH4 I think,blew me away. Loved modern dance ever since. This one did it,for a working-class boy...

I take it most of us learnt this from Dance class? I learnt parts of this when it was a new performance back in 2001 or around that time, then the 'playing with fire' and that 'fade away' song. Ahh dance is great man! ^^

Still grateful for the day this superb ballet swirled before my ears and eyes - those early Stones dressed up so elegantly and colorful by such fine dancers! Christopher Bruce is a giant. As is his team of designers! This is about what makes the world get going: the male & the female. Their fun, attraction, selection. This ode to Jagger was seen by the primate himself on the premiere in London... he was content , if not flattered. I should dig for my photo shoot of whole troupe de ballet in the studio hall... these moving sculptures... flesh + blood

Christopher Bruce’s Rooster is one of Rambert’s all-time best-loved works, set to eight of the Rolling Stones’ best known songs. Created in 1991 and first performed by Rambert in 1994. This 2014 production is Rooster’s first time on the UK stage for 13 years

I graduated in 1991 (fine arts) and hung out with dance students, who introduced me to Ballet Rambert, and Little Red Rooster... It was utterly amazing, thanks to you, I have a better grasp as to what year I saw the production :)

It was the first 45 rpm record I heard in my life, the Rolling Stones. My father had it at home in 1970. The other side was "Of the hook".

What is the story of this dance.....
@littlemissdance56954 жыл бұрын
Its about males arrogance from the 60s - Christopher Bruces youth and the sense of them owning their territory and showing off. I've made a video about it if its any help! :) xx

@@stanbeyonce3500 No worries, i'm studying it at school as well so I know the struggle lol. This is why I've recently started this KZbin channel because I know how difficult dance theory can be as there is such a lack of resources.

I think your talking about the piece called hurricane by the same choreographer, to the Music by Dylan. Its very hard to find a recording of the performance, I know they exist, but hard to come by.
