It's not surf, but it sounds sorta like it because of the amps and use of reverb. It's really based on Rockabilly and earlier boogie rhythm. This is a pretty okay garage band. Look up The Shadows and also Dave Edmunds, who did a lot of Rockabilly revival in the70s and 80s. You might like it a lot.

Shadoogie was written by The Shadows and released by them in September 1961 after having topped the charts with "Apache" the previous year.

Fantastische goed bewaarde videoregistratie van deze topband! Jammer dat Guus is overleden, en ook jammer dat ik 'm niet persoonlijk gekend heb. Als ik 'm hier zie spelen, dan doet me dat denken aan de tijd dat ik zelf (in die periode met Robert Long) in Duitsland aan het toeren was met de band. Hij lijkt hier ook sprekend op mij, ik ook met m'n vetkuif. Ik zie dat we dezelfde Hofner gitaar bespeelden, want geld voor een echte Fender Stratocaster was er niet. Guus: R.I.P. Roy Soerioroseno
