This game was initially released in 1992 - when the NES was past the end of it's life cycle! It's no wonder most people never heard of this game. :( Kudos to you Mike for bringing it out of obscurity. ~_~

That rotating sprite in the beginning level select is impressive for the nes. And it looks like an awesome game!

If you purchased this from eBay from a seller around the Indiana area or anywhere close by there, this may in fact be my former copy that you have. I sold mine to a seller quite a while back who in turn sold it on eBay and it looks slightly familiar. I could be mistaken as of course it would look similar to many other copies out there, but i'm just throwing that out there in case this is what happened.

The animation on some of the sprites is amazing! Those worms in the beginning... Never saw something so smooth on the NES

George Hernandez I have a repro cart of the famicom version and the rom on my everdrive. I’ll never be able to touch an original cart! But you’re right, there are inexpensive alternatives

Repro is the way to go with this one. Someday I hope to find an original, but till then, my repro copy works just fine. Treasure hunting these old games is part of the fun with collecting though. What’s the rarest game y’all have found in the wild? Mine is zen intergalactic ninja with the instruction manual for 2 bucks at a goodwill.

Forget repros. Emulators are free. Collecting games is a hobby I just don't get. Maybe it's the social aspect. Going out meeting gamers, talking about games & haggling over prices. Maybe its being able to flont your collection. "look, I've got NWC & cheetamen 2!" I do enjoy watching people show off their collections on KZbin. However... From my prospective. It's too time consuming, expensive, inconvenient, takes up way too much space in a home & makes a home look messy. I sold almost all my consoles and games. I can't be bothered with the mess in my entertainment stand. I have to admit that there is something to be said for using the original controllers though. I have reproductions for every console I play on my computer. Playing Nintendo with anything but a Nintendo controller, just doesn't feel right.

The intro of this video reminds me or Meta Knightmare Returns, one of the games in Kirby Planet Robobot. Is a time attack of the game playing as Meta Knight. In theory it allows you to save half way through the levels and between each level and come back later.. but it doesn't save any of your Meta Points, which you need to activate things like "Move faster" or "Kill everything on the screen." So its largely useless.

@@mikematei I just read that whole entire blog. You have some very good points Mike. I always enjoy what you bring to the table and what you stream live. If I was ever to live stream and hopefully sometime in the near future. I would probably do it pretty close to how you are doing it. Except maybe having a camera at me and the actual TV I am playing the console on. If that is even possible. lol Anyway I just need a powerful enough PC so I can live stream. But for now I can record while playing and being myself while playing the game.
