It didn't come up in the video, so here you guys go. Samson is Samson. HOWEVER! The dragon was a Princess transformed because she was spoiled. The GOLEM was a professional thief who was transformed because of his greed. & the Mouse is actually a wizard who got stuck that way while doing magic. It's all in the Instruction booklet that came with the game. Cheers!!

Thanks, Disney. They pump low-quality garbage out by the ass-load. Remember when a new Star Wars movie or a game was a fucking event? Disney destroyed all of that and hit us with a double-combo. Low quality fanfiction-tier writing and lots of it, every year, hell, every few months even.

Little Samson was actually worked on by the real father of Mega Man: Akira Kitamura. He left Capcom after Mega Man 2, co-founded the game company Takeru and made a Famicom game called Cocoron (also really fun). After Little Samson he sadly left the game development business for good.

"Why is Hollywood making so many movies where the main charcter comes to the real world, why are they not making movies in the video game world instead?" Because its lazier, easier and, most importantly, cheaper to just use real-life locations. Their reasoning is : "Why spend millions of dollars creating a fantastic environment and sets? Just spend a few hundred dollars to rent an appartment for a few days where the character will live in and rent a car for the human buddy actor to drive the main character around. Why spend even more millions of dollars and thousands of hours animating more characters? Just hire some C-level actors to pretend as if the main character is there."

I think the reason so many of those movies take place in the real world is pretty simple: It's cheaper to film in a real location that already exists than it is to build elaborate sets or render fantasy landscapes in CG.

To Mike's point on Zelda games, I think we all play them for the adventure and exploration. -But, I think Majora's mask was one of the first Zelda games to give that same feeling from interacting with the NPCs. At least as a main focus. You explored more than a world, you explored the depths of its people, and it just opened up more possibilities of what a game could be.

There's room for story-heavy games as well as totally gameplay-centric games in the space. I think it's important to have an appreciation for both. And I don't think people only really like Majora's Mask for it's story. It's just easier to talk about how unique the story is compared to discussing how well the gameplay is designed. Oh man, this video started really feel-good with the discussion about playing such a good NES game you hadn't before, then the discussion just became about hating everything mainstream and current and not giving anything a chance and ugh. You know what I'm tired of? Apathetic cynics who think them not caring about things are other people's problems.
