Bailey Clarke 1 getting the car moving is the hardest part! Never downshift to first gear unless you’re almost at a complete stop, if you’re stopped at an uphill you can always put your e brake on and give off the clutch alittle then when cars start moving just drop the e brake (or just try to be pro at getting it moving without rolling into the car behind) if you’re going pretty fast and traffic is coming to a stop, don’t worry about downshifting. Just hit that clutch and throw it in neutral, and shift as needed if traffic continues to move. Make sure if you stall at a traffic light to throw it out of gear just to make sure you’re not in 3rd or something. And that’s about all the advice I have for beginners!

A tip for anyone starting/wanting to learn how to drive a manual; Start off with the clutch fully pressed in. Set the revs between 1000-1200 rpm (foot on the gas) and then slowly lift your clutch pedal. As you lift the clutch, try to press down a little firmer on the gas and then you’re off! 😁
