First I would like to say thank you to all of you who have kept Becca in your prayers and have helped her through this difficult time. Your comments are amazing and have helped me also tried to process this. Today the 28th is the first time that I've actually watched this vlog😥😘👍🙏 it warms my heart and the PCT community is AMAZING!!! I was able to see my Little Skittle PCT just like she had planned on the 27th. Giving her a hug at The Bridge of the Gods was such an incredible feeling I'll never forget it. Got home tonight have spent most of the evening reflecting on the last 24 hours. Also on the plus side I'm going to be able to see her next weekend and drop off a food box. That will be the last time I see her before I meet her at Manning Park to welcome her HOME !!!💪👍😘😜 please pray for no wildfires anywhere :) Mama Skittle :)

Sending you love lady. Your grandma is obviously very proud of what you are out there doing, and now in a way, she gets to join you for the ride. ...and like you said, can't think of a better place to work through crap then in the fresh air, on the trail. Feel all the feels through these next 900. We are rooting for you!

Hi. So heartfelt and touching. It is so hard to lose someone close but you will have a trail angel watching over you for the rest of your journey. She would want you to finish what you started. What you said is so true. You never know when your last breath or the last breath of a loved one will be. That's why my motto in life is to live every day as though it's your last. Thanks for sharing and God's Speed to you on the rest of the trail. John from MI

Wow ... I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Wishing you ease and grace - and the spaciousness to allow whatever to needs to move through you during the grieving process. Your ongoing capacity to be so vulnerable and raw and honest is unreal. You're bringing us all along on your journey. And in doing so you have the support of thousands of people. Be gentle on yourself ... and maybe dedicate this grand adventure of yours to your grandmother.

This isn't the first time you have brought tears to my eyes. Your trip thru the Sierras, now this. I am sorry for what you are going thru, but remember we all go thru it. I relate your feelings to my daughters who are you same age. Doing all their activities, and then my own health situations. I have hiked from Kearsarge Whitney twice and Whitney to Kearsarge twice. But nothing like you have done. Keep your Grandmothers Spirit with you. What you have accomplished is so far amazing above most thru hikers that I have seen. God Bless your Grandmother and God Bless you. Please keep the videos coming regardless. We all love you!!

I am sorry for the loss of your Grandmother who loved you unconditionally as only Grandmothers do. I've observed that Thru-hikers seem willing to take on any obstacle for the simple reward of unending possibility. You experience life in its most expansive, challenging form and your moment by moment engagement with the mountains leaves nothing in reserve. Your Grandmother gifted you a striving curiosity, a yearning to know what is over the next hill. Here on out you'll feel your Grandmother's wonder at the magnificence of each discovery... Blessings, Brave Skittles.

You are where you need to be and the feelings and heartaches will come and go at the drop of a hat but that is ok and nothing to be embarrassed about. Your grandma will be so proud of you as you continue on and we will be cheering you on as well.

Sorry for your loss. Going through something like this while in the middle of a monumental endeavor such as what you’re on is really the test, isn’t it? Sounds like your family and home support are firmly at your back so you won’t be doing this alone. Wishing much inspiration and motivation to connect with the joy you’ve come to know in the mountains.

My sincere condolences on your loss. Part of her still lives on in you and all the others who loved her. I agree with you that you should continue. Grief is a long slow process. I lost my wife 2 years ago and I'm still lost. I hope that you find the trail therapeutic for dealing with your grief. Taking care of our son keeps me going. You are going to be a bit distracted now, so be extra careful. Good Luck, Rick
