Okay there is so much wrong with this right here. First off that kid needs a bigger horse. He is sitting way to far back he needs to be sitting up straight, so the pony doesn't have all that pressure on his/her mouth. Also, the kid needs to get rid of the riding crop because he is holding it wrong. The dude with the kid needs to quit kicking his legs all around. Quite a bit of them didn't have their hands positioned right, and a lot of them were sitting wrong in the saddle.

they are gaited horses you sit further back in the saddle with them ..i agree with the pony and the kid also the sheltand isn't a gaited horse so the pony should be saddled and sat NORMALLY not further back ..l think they have the wrong saddle on the pony

@@bellarayyy123 That’s called “yacking” it’s a Texas style of riding popular in the southern parts of the state. There’s multiple styles when it comes to horse riding, but I’m sure u knew that being an equestrian and all. We’ve adopted it in Louisiana, they do it out in Compton California, and a few other states.

@@A-bone i’m aware. but it’s careless to let a grown child on a tiny pony. it’s painful for the pony’s back and muscles to carry the weight. the reins are WAY too tight which can hurt their mouth. they’re leaning too far back, letting the horse get in front of their leg which can unbalance both the horse and rider, and they didn’t even put their heels down. in every style of riding you have to put your heels down. but whatever

Keep in mind the 20 percent rule as far as the Shetland. The rider should be no more than. 20 percent of the horses weight.

I would switch him up a bit. That shetland looks too small. I would look for a quarter pony or a small 13 or 14 hand horse. And I would let up on the reins. They are pretty tight :/

There are great instructional books by Sally Swift called centered riding where you learn how to develop your center of gravity on the horse so that you will have soft hands so that you're not balancing on the horse's mouth causing the horse discomfort and pain and learning how to ride more effectively and without pain or discomfort to the horse it's better for all and you'll get a longer life out of your horse. Also the ground is hard to be riding at a fast pace. I want to encourage equestrian skills and encourage people to love their horses horses have great hearts and deserve all of the understanding and kindness thank you God bless

NO! If your horse won't stop, your horse isn't trained! The problem is not the horse, it's the rider. A horse trained by a knowledgeable person can get a horse to stop with a halter and lead rope. And they do it without the horses head ending in their lap.

Yes, we do understand that gaited horse breeds move differently, but that’s not an accuse to hold the reins differently, sit differently, or treat the horse differently. First of, that kid on the pony is far too big, his legs are almost touching the ground, he’s hunched over and way too far in the saddle, causing him to yank on the reins so hard that the pony is in distress and pain. Gaited horses should be ridden correctly, not like this. Gaited breeds aren’t an excuse to yank on the reins, have horrible body posture, hold the reins incorrectly, and have your feet so far back in the stirrups.
