Little Witch Academia is Absolutely Magnificent

I absolutely adore this anime. Lovable characters, great atmosphere and animation. How does it compare to the OVA?

I've rewatched the series and the ova and the movie it gives me a lot of hope and sometimes nostalgia it is very inspiring and i also like the music so i am glad someone is acknowledging it thank you for your review sir.

am i the only one who though this was a terrible anime? the original OVA and movie were great so it's a shame i can't say the same for the anime series. explaining every reason i hate this anime would take forever so for now i'll just explain my issues with some of the characters. Diana. she is a Mary Sue. you can't deny this. she's some rich girl from some famous household, a master of every magic, is fluent in ancient languages and she's constantly showered with praise from nearly everyone around her. she's constantly expected to succeed at everything she tries and oftentimes she does. and even when she fails and someone else succeeds, circumstances results in her getting the credit anyway. now she does become a better character in the latter episodes. but so does every other characters cause the writing is better for the second half of this anime so that's not saying much. Hannah and Barbara. if you don't know who these are, they're Diana's posse. for most of the anime they're snarky bitches. and i can't help but ask why are they like this. do they want to be hated by everyone around them because that's all they ever make me feel for them. they contribute so little to the overall narrative that you could remove them and nothing would be lost. Akko. why does it seem that Japan loves having imbeciles as protagonist. it rarely ever works out and this is just another example of it not working out. often time she'll put no effort into her craft and then throw complain when she gets no result. she also has a tendency to be reckless and irresponsible. who actually thinks it's interesting to watch some bubbling buffoon going around making a mess of things by being a reckless moron. now she does have her moment and as i said the writing does improve and she does with it. but if i wanted to be entertained by an idiot protagonist i'd watch either Dragonball or The Law of Ueki or better yet i'd go read my favorite manga of all times Hayate X Blade. the rest of the cast is alright with Amanda being the best which is probably why i think episode 17 is the best since she is the star in that episode.

I fell in love with LWA after first seeing the OVA a year or two ago and frequently went back to it. This series has really captured me and has honestly become perhaps one my all-time favorites, I'd even be so bold as to say even top 3, maybe. I adore this show, the characters, animation, soundtrack and sound design, the vocal performances, and TRIGGER itself for putting so much passion into their work.

Want to know how I fell in love with Little Witch Academia? The Worst Witch (not the Netflix 2017 Reboot, but I like that one too, The 1980s Movie with Tim Curry and the 1998 TV Series). Akko is exactly like Mildred Hubble. so many other Parallels between The Worst Witch and Little Witch Academia that I don't know where to start.

the thing about this show that would make a sequel/season 2 work is that they have a lot of room for spin offs, and most of the show wasn't focused on the plot so it wouldn't feel weird to make a season 2. trigger has already thrown around some ideas of where to take the series in the future, with the main 3 that I've heard of being a spinoff based on nightfall, a prequel focused on chariot, or just a season 2, but this time with less focus on akko and more of an even focus on everyone. the main thing keeping them from making a season 2 atm is that they're busy with other projects and Netflix has to be the one to greenlight it, due to having the streaming rights. trigger has already said they wanna do it, so it's more or less just a waiting game until they're able to.

The special exhibition will be launched as soon as possible for a total of five months. I declare Atsuko Kagari to be the cardboard stand-up mascot favored by studio Trigger executives, Atsuko kagari would go on to become the mascot of Studios TRIGGER and was featured in their production logo up. P.S. : i and Trigger fans love Akko is the titular main protagonist of Little Witch Academia. And I love “the heroic quest of the valiant prince ivandoe”, Akko came out in 2013, and ivandoe came out in 2017. Their names are taken from classic novels.

Eh I don´t know. Diana is missing for several episodes and when she´s there she just mops around, I rather prefer her bossy personality from the ovas. Same with Akko, she got toned down from the ovas and giving waaay too much spotlight. That´s my biggest problem, several characther are barely touched upon and even Sucy and Lotte basically dissapear during the second half of the show. But oh well, I do agree is kinda a spectacle to watch.

I agree with you about a lot of the characters not being explored much and that's why I think it needs a 3rd season. Although most characters that were explored I think were amazing. Also, characters are obviously toned down since they have 25 episodes to develop them instead of about 4.
