Eh, yeah. One of the charming things about the LWA series for me was that the first half was almost completely devoid of traditional anime combat scenes. They were very creative in the obstacles and solutions they employed. And in the second half, when combat played a more prominent role, it had earned viewer buy-in that gave those moments weight. I like me some beat 'em ups, but it looks like filler that doesn't belong in a LWA game.

I really like little witch academia and I don't mind side-scrollers but if the characters are too stiff/weird to control while in the scroller sections, the dungeons are boring and characters repeating the same dialog when fighting too many times this makes me not want to pay $50 to play a game that only has good fetch quests. I guess I'll wait for a sale or something. ^^; Thank you for the review, I'll make sure to check out your other stuff since this is my first time viewing your video.~

I actually finally got around to buy the game because Steam had a major sale on it for just $7 so I took that chance. I gotta say after playing a good 8 hours of the game I really enjoy it and having fun. I do agree the running around the school can be tiring because it's a BIG school but other than that the game is very enjoyable with the characters being just as lovable like in the anime, the story is pretty interesting, there are animated cutscenes throughout the story, the gameplay is pretty smooth, the battle mechanics arent so bad, Akko is being Akko, and I love the way we form different types of magic based on the constellations. Overall I will definitely keep playing the game

I honestly found the brawler sections to be the most entertaining, the school parts, however, I just wish it was faster to walk around, I've played the game for about a week already but I still really love this game. I should also mention that the online seems to be always unavailable. Maybe I'm just a bit impatient...

Yeah, I'd rather the dungeon portion be turned based battles modeled after the Mario RPGs or Persona rather than the beat-em-up aspect isn't that bad once you get used to it, but it is janky.

I liked the character icons a lot. Everything else was...missable. A huge attention grabber in the anime and TV was the absolutely gorgeous animation - definitely feel like the game was a large step in the wrong direction. The character dialogue was nice but the brawler dialogue was most certainly not. A more cinematic exploration game would have been preferable.

Onizen combat had taken about 1/3 of my game time. I have still spent over 10 hours in adventure mode and that alone made it worth it to me. You do you, but i definitely wasn't expecting this high level of quality for an adventure

Just felt like getting this game recently and oh boy, the side scroller looks low budget, like, mobile game budget, the rest of the game, mostly the dialogues and of course the anime parts look fantastic, guess it truly is a game that lives off the fanservice without much substance gameplay wise.

Omg why can they not just get voice actors for every language possible.... I mean other games do it too so why not this one. Wasnt bandai namco the publisher(dev?) who made the fragon ball z games for ps2 like 10 years ago? It worked there to properly translate and localize games then so why not today? I bet they just think that they can be lazy because the majority of anime people are watching in the original language and still I dont think that only those people should be the target group of those devs.

Never watched Little Witch Academia (probably will someday), but I won't play the game as of right now. From the trailers the combat looked bad, and now in the review he says it is bad. Also, I'm not into time management. I disliked that in Lightning Returns, and never played Majora's Mask.

Little Witch Academia can't really be "read" through as it only has a very short 2 volume manga with an original story. Don't mean to pick nits, but hearing someone mention manga when talking about a Trigger show felt almost foreign to my ears.
