Writer-director Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird) has crafted a Little Women that draws on both the classic novel and the writings of Louisa May Alcott, and unfolds as the author’s alter ego, Jo March, reflects back and forth on her fictional life. In Gerwig’s take, the beloved story of the March sisters - four young women each determined to live life on her own terms -- is both timeless and timely. Portraying Jo, Meg, Amy, and Beth March, the film stars Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, with Timothée Chalamet as their neighbor Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March.

I was fooled and thought the Jo and Friedrich plotline was real 💀 I gotta say, the transition was so jarring it took me out of the story. They didnt need to make it real, but it could have been better... somehow. After all, we humans are not consistent creatures, so it was pretty believable for what it was even if Jo was adamant about not marrying in the start. That part could have been reworked, but other than that it's a lovely story, albeit quite sad.
@snickbiordking5748
@snickbiordking5748 Жыл бұрын
@@superplaylists1616 It was technically real I guess? The whole film was basically Jo being the actual author of the Little Women book. She didn't want Jo to have a love interest but was given no choice to make it happen otherwise the book would not be published, which exactly happened in the film too. So the actual storyline of the Little Women story, the whole Jo and Fedrick thing did happen. The film was just Jo telling the story she wrote in her book which is Little Women, so Fedrick and Jo didn't happen OUTSIDE the book. Heck I think Fedrick didn't even exist and was made up 💀

@@ashleymailer6376 Wrong. Men only have the responsibility today but no authority which creates no incentive to get involved though still wish to have a family of their own but women today value nothing more than politics and career even though they never wanted to work in the first place. They want the luxuries of life without obtaining it, however still don't want to be with a man to have those things because they're a "free spirit" when translated means they're a whore and ride the cock carousel. Feminism and equality created this monster. The monster they voted for, and here we see example #704,115,006 of blaming them. Responsibility is women's kryptonite, they're giant children which when thought of that way makes everything they do make sense like magic all of a sudden, pretend poorly to emulate men, abandon their role of motherhood which is literally their only job which actually works and stabilizes civilization, and yet it remains a mystery why suicide, drug overdose and crime are at it's highest in male statistics. Women dominate higher education now but it doesn't help at all. Women don't like men that earn less than them, and yet they also leave those positions to achieve motherhood anyway in approx. 5 years tops. Everything sucks, and everyone is depressed.

tomasz What? That wasn’t even the point of the quote whatsoever, what Amy said symbolizes how women back in the 1800’s were not able to make a life by themselves let alone with their family. Amy was told to marry to be able to support her family, and that was the truth of many women around their time. And no, women don’t need to man up and get a job. For one, women could have not really done that back then, women working was not apparent at all, and even if Jo did, it was barely enough to support her family. Secondly, all people have the right to choose what they want to do in their life. Looking down on women that are housewives is just as bad as looking down on a working women. Apologies if you possibly get offended by this in any way, but your statement in my eyes was false, to each is own but that is my take one the phrase.

I loved the 1994 rendition. But I have to say I found this rendition even better. It's extremely well-produced, not to mention well-acted. Really a masterpiece.

i dont hate amy but i don't necessarily like her either, as the youngest in the family i know what its like being hated and judged as a spoiled little brat and btw that trip to europe wasnt amy's fault and neither was it jo's. but what she did burning jo's novel was cruel. jo wanted amy to stay at home so that she should finish her homework. but at least she said sorry because if she didnt i would have freaked lmao

For me, this movie was one of the most amazing movies 🙌🏻 i laughed when they quarreled and cried when Beth died.. I felt bad for Jo when she heard Amy as Laurie's wife.. She kept writing because Beth told her not to stop writing even if i leave this world, that scene will make you cry :'( my fav character was Beth she wasn't in most of the scenes but still i loved her💕 afterall movie ends happily, everyone gets everything they wanted to :) Guys you must watch this movie.. This movie deserves so much ❤️

1:35 idk why I'm crying and touched in this part and on the part when Jo sister amy and teddy finally got home and Jo and Teddy talked about how are they and talked about "My wife" like I'm litteraly crying rn, I just want to watch this movie because emma watson is there and I'm addicted to it. I just finished watching the whole movie, but the part when teddy and amy god I really cried idk why tho, I think I feel so sorry for Jo that she's now going to tell teddy "Yes" but she didn't. If your not crying then I am🥺😭 Lol I want to make a story tho like this like her story specially that broken hearted scenes.

Tyleya yes! but somehow i feel like Laurie was nos supposed to be, or at least not with the sisters. I didn't really enjoy the way the director told the story of Laurie and Any, but that's not Bale's job. Again, he's great, but I'm really looking forward to this movie and this new Laurie is one of the main reasons why.
