There wasn't discussion or pure frustration of women being confined to the home so why in the world should they have the right to vote on issues that they don't know or care about simply because they're women and their jobs should be to cook, clean and look after the kids. It's going to be difficult to beat the original film. It showcased the freedom Jo and her sisters craved while still being authentic to the struggles of the time period. A lot of modern remakes become almost too modern and struggle to relay what life was truly like. But this looks great! Can't wait!

Thats exactly what I thought while watching! In the trailer they are focussing alot on their belongings to be artists and their belongings to scream out lout. But that was not the only wish and struggle you had in this time to get your individuality.
@ltischpickover4 жыл бұрын
@@ellaaa812 Agreed, in the time the book is set, it was difficult for women to express themselves; they couldn't vote, they couldn't work, they had no real sense of identity. The book and first film(s) show a clear focus on the struggles of the specific time period, they do not try to relate or equate these to the struggles of women today - it's a totally different scenario. We need to embrace this period and it's realistic circumstances as history too, that's part of why women can vote, work and love freely today.

I loved the adaptation we millennials grew up with, not just the film but the soundtrack beside it, which inspired me to learn the piano. I couldn't have asked for a better version as a kid. But it's 25 years later, and I'm just as excited for Gen Z's to feel the same magic I did with this brilliant material. We don't have to mourn the adaptation we loved, that's for us to hold on to. Now it's their turn.

And what I loved the most is that it looks very balanced between showcasing life in the country and innocent, happy moments in the girls’ lives with the struggles women had to endure back then.
