So nice to know you are travelling and enjoying yourself. Not to rush our nice weather, but can’t wait for you to see Kate. Looking forward to a picture of the two of you!! Good luck with the dying of the wool. Kinda do agree with you, it needs something. Lovely knits in the works.

Selma, thank you for the beautiful podcast with the special uplifting ending. I would like to encourage viewers to watch Kiko’s knitting podcast. Kiko is in Germany and records from her yarn shop in Germany but in perfect English. She also has an entirely German podcast. Her knitting projects are delightful and expertly constructed. She knits all kinds of interesting garments and socks and also knits a lot of gnomes using patterns from imagined landscapes by Sarah Schira. I highly recommend Kiko to your viewers who might enjoy a similar podcast to yours with a gentle style and expertise.

I’m glad that I’m not the only one who’s tried starting the foot of a sock without doing a heel turn. 😜 My older son and his family live in Reno Nevada where last week they started the week on Sunday and Monday with snow and then by Friday the high temperature was 30 degrees C! Too bad about Purl Soho!!😆 I love the Cattail silk by purl soho, I double stranded it and did the Ankers Tee, literally used up 2 balls, I was almost going to play some yarn chicken, but didn’t 😬 I used the Katia concept yarn, but it wasn’t cotton/cashmere…it knit up nicely but it was very fine, I should have used mohair with it! 🤷🏻‍♀️guess I know for next time. That sweater is beautiful, color & pattern.

I so enjoy your podcasts. All your projects are so lovely and your happiness is infectious. I too would also love to see Purl Soho. They seem to have so many gorgeous yarns. I bit the bullet a couple of months ago and ordered linen quill when they had a sale on and it really is fab. I’ve only done a swatch so far (finishing other projects first) but wow, I love the swatch. I really wish a shop owner in Canada could arrange a contract so we could get it here in this country and allow us not to have to pay duty and shipping from the US. Love from Calgary.

I just forgot my heel turn on a sock and I just knit it when I got to it , I grabbed a spare set of DPN’s and went for it because it didn’t seem to affect my gusset pick up. I just have a few extra ends to weave in and there were a lot of extra needle tips bouncing around. I will do the second sock the normal way to see if I can tell the difference.

I always love your podcasts Selma...you have inspired me to start sock knitting. I'm in New Zealand and our winter is setting in so good time to cast on some lovely socks!

Love your Eeek sweater. Added to my queue. Remember to take your finished sock with you on your trip so that you can measure the leg length! 😜 I’ve almost gone straight to picking up stitches a few times, but somethings just stopped me in time. Now that I knit exclusively top down, working the heel flap, heel turn and gusset has become my favourite part of the sock. Hope to see some footage of Kate’s visit if she is up to it. I always enjoy that little piece of music at the end. 🥰

Thank you for another wonderfully inspiring episode. Your knits are so beautiful! The nature footage at the end was the cherry on top. I hope you have a great trip to NY. I've been to the tenement museum and Ellis Island museum, both are very interesting. When my husband's sister walked into the Italian apartment at the tenement museum she gasped because it was so similar to her Italian grandma's home even down to the same Jesus picture, lace curtains, and other decorations. When we're were at Ellis Island we found my husband's grandfather's name as he came through there on his way into the country. We found out he was rejected the first time and sent home and a few years later he tried again and got in. He brought with him a cutting of his favorite fig tree and had it groing in his backyard. My husband remembers eating figs from it when he was growing up. After the grandparents both died and before the house was sold another cutting was made and sent to my sister in law and she grew a fig tree In her backyard and made more cuttings, one of which she gave to us and now we have Grandpa's fig tree growing in our garden. Such a wonderful connection to a man I never got to meet. Hugs, Valerie from Oregon

So exciting when I see you’ve put up a new podcast. They’re all so enjoyable and inspiring. Next exciting moment was when you said Kate is coming to visit. I do so miss her podcasts but so pleased to hear she’s visiting. I guess that means she’s still knitting. Hi Kate! Also love your colour sense Selma. 30 deg eh. Is it humid too? Margaret

Selma, the footage at the end of the podcast is amazing! And all those adorable little goslings-no wonder we have a problem with the goose population out here in BC- those geese are very prolific. I love that orange sweater you are knitting-Knit Together with Kim and Jonna (a great new podcast) are starting a knit along with Isabelle Kraemer patterns and Myak yarn (but you can choose any pattern and yarn, so yours would fit in well). I too forget the heel turn more often than I care to think about- glad I am not alone-your socks all look lovely. I am about to start socks with some West Yorkshire Soinners yarn that I bought due to all the positive reviews it gets. I am with you and gardening-my house plants thrive, while my outside plants struggle-especially vegetables -I think I travel too much in the summer escaping the extreme heat of a Kamloops summer and vegetables need constant care and I need plants that thrive on neglect. Enjoy your trip to New York. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun with friends and adventures.

I think I’m neglectful of anything outside 😬 we have a lot of “trailer park” geese that never fly south because life’s just too good here!!

@@littlebigknits I blame it on global warming. We have geese and swans year round in BC now too.
