Dealing With a Fussy Buyer? Let's Chat..

While changing reborn baby Clara, I chat about a situation I read on Facebook from a friend in the doll community. What would you do in this situation? Clara is the Levi sculpt by Bonnie Brown and her artist is Melissa George.

This is why I haven't placed an order for a custom. I might end up being that fussy buyer. If I requested a specific hair color or style and paid, then the artist decided they couldn't accommodate it, I would be upset. I've wanted a doll to match my daughters skin tone and hair, but I just can't pull the trigger with an artist because I'm afraid of paying all that money and not getting my vision. Shipping is so stressful both ways as seller and buyer. In this case, like you said, I would offer a refund, or one more chance to ship. Maybe the buyer is having second thoughts and the baby didn't turn out like she expected, will take the refund, and the artist can resell. Customs are so risky both ways for buyer and seller, I think that's why many artists don't do them.

i think i would cancel transaction also. kind of scary situation. i am proud i have not bugged artist doing my doll at all. this buyer sounds to unsure anyway even if it is not a scam. when you are excited and cannot wait to get your baby, be careful is one thing but this is something else. clara looks perfect in that little outfit. tell audrey when the cat is older it will calm down and be her cuddle baby. kittens do get wild. lol

Honestly I would cancel the transaction and refund the money. Sounds like the buyer has been a bit abusive towards her. If the buyer is this difficult I'd be afraid she would pick out imaginary flaws on the doll and demand her money back. Instead of going through all of that I would inform the buyer that one; their behavior is unacceptable and two; expect their refund. I'd refund them and stop all communications. Ive been in retail all my life. Customers are not always right.

It's best to avoid bathing unless necessary... I do bathe mine if I purchased them secondhand.

Talk to the buyer about your concerns and offer her a refund and cancel the transaction or allow the buyer to ship the doll as she prefer. ..the seller should wait until the buyer receives the doll about 2 weeks before spending the money. ..just encase the buyer complains weeks after and demands a refund. ❤

I received a custom doll with the wrong color hair but I just accepted it because I waited 9 months to get it. The color was a few shades off. It's really well done and perfect otherwise. I would be afraid to sell to a fussy buyer. It's not worth the headache. I hope you continue to record videos. I totally enjoy them and have seen most of them from the beginning of your channel.

If I'm paying all that money, I don't really want to settle for something less than I'm happy with. But as far as shipping goes, I wouldn't be fussy with. I would definitely give her another chance though, she's been waiting. She's spent a lot of money. She is naturally a bit nervous, although a bit more than I would be.

I would have her money return. You should never treat your artist like this , I also believe trust is mutual. Respect is an natural as your character shows who you are and how you represent yourself. I also say your reputation means alot more then money any day.

Hi Lynne I hope you and the children are all well. I have just payed off my first and only silicon baby boy. I’m in the U.K. and artist is in the USA. I have read all her reviews from other customers and it’s all positive. I have also seen her work and box openings from her customers on KZbin. I’m super excited as it will not only be my one and only silicone baby but will also be the last one I add to my collection. Hello, Your baby girl is beautiful. I make my dollies for family so far, and I tried to sell one on ebay and got scammed, so I won't sell on ebay ever again, I post my dollies in my private group on fb, but I won't do customs, just because people are too fussy and demanding and very impatient. You just lose the desire to do it at all and in the end you lose money. I make baby dolls because I love to do it, it gives me pleasure and relaxes me, not to have someone ruin it for me by being mean and rude.
