Ever since I was a young girl and discovered the wonder of reading, I have loved the idea of romanticizing little, every day moments. I hear you! Wearing the apron, doing the chores in a dress, cooking by candlelight, reading by lamplight.. they just highlight how beautiful life is. Romance is all around us, and it's a gift from the Almighty!

My great grandma always made her own clothes and always looked so beautiful. She always said my home, my husband and child... how they look are a reflection on me. They took care of everything they had and only bought things once bc back then they were well made. She definitely had order, well kept home and even outside caretakers of God's creation. I wish she was still here ❤ I learned so much from them.

Beautiful… again! I think that there are women who watch and compare themselves to you and think, “My life doesn’t look this romantic. Should it? Is this even real?” After all, we’ve been conditioned to compare ourselves like this and we are more than willing to do it. But what most of us don’t realize is that some of the things that we do as feminine women are romanticizing in their very nature. We are feminine. We ARE romantic creatures. We may not realize that the things we do look that way to others because it becomes the norm to us. I want to wear more dresses, I want to make everything quaint, but the fact is, I don’t. And yet when friends, family, or even workers come in to my home they comment and compliment on things that I think of as common. The point of it all is not to compare ourselves to anyone, but rather to be thankful in the mundane things, to notice Him in everything lovely… to SEE the lovely. Like you mentioned, the way flower petals are formed, the sound of food sizzling, the smell of His bounty that He has blessed us with. And you, Lea, help to point these things out to us; to remind us to watch for these things and be thankful in them. Thank you for your willingness to share your life and for the artful way that you share it with us!

Sweet Lea, you have inspired me so much to start dressing more feminine. I am a farmer and so my clothing has always been practical. I have purchased light weight flowy dresses to wear when I am in the vegetables and flowers in the warmer weather but I do admit I can't quite stomach yet a dress in the cattle manure but maybe some day I will get there. I have also started ro take care of my hair and put it in protective braids and such and just finding beauty and femininity in my otherwise 'dirty' life 😊 thank you for helping me find that:) your videos are such a blessing to me

Even if we don't always feel like doing certain daily chores and we would like to spend all day in our pajamas that's fine the important thing is to always know how to appreciate everything that the Lord gives us every day and let the days are always peaceful and to think that.......tomorrow is another day that has been. granted to us on this earth thanks to God. Where are the aprons from? I decided this summer I will wear some with long flowy skirts around my farm and lands 😊 and I need to start getting materials and sew them as I don't think I can buy already made where I live. I'm all for dressing up and being stylish even if I don't go out in town, sometimes I put on a full face of makeup and only go to muck the stalls or up the hills to bring hay 😄😄

That beautiful connection to other parts of his creation, people today seem to be drowning themselves in anger and consumerism, sounds of birds, real fire crackling, puzzles, taking the time to gently brush your hair and listen to the noises. I have to be honest I am trying to constantly re connect. Even I find myself spending way to much time on youtube. It is very hard for me as I live in a dangerous situation, so youtube is often an escape for me, but I do not like how much time I spend online and how it affects me, I am going to discipline myself more to stay offline, Please pray for me to be able to have my own home. I wish more people appreciated the ordinary, I find such beauty in everyday mundane moments. Also the other day we had snow I snuck out at around 5am, no one was out it was dark and romantic in the park I didn't feel scared like you may think, I just walked around and prayed it was so beautiful, I wonder what it would have been like years ago with minimal technology and no street lights.

I sincerely agree. This is a special, quiet joy. We moved to the country a few years ago. Our children are thriving. I’ve never experienced the glory of solitude like this. No more anxiety no more depression. We don’t have WiFi and our cellphones barely work and it’s perfect. I just finished sewing a chicken egg apron for my son, who will eagerly gather fresh eggs for us tomorrow if my little girl doesn’t beat him to it! Truly, in 2023 this is the best kept secret. I can never go back to having neighbors again. 20 acres is now my personal bubble. Glory to God for all things! ☦️💕

Taking the time to enjoy and appreciate God's creations is a blessing. We had an episode of sleet 4 days ago that created challenges in driving, broken branches, etc.. However, as I was driving home the day after, I noticed how the maple trees' branches were covered in ice and as the sun was shining that, it looked like the forest was covered in diamonds. I had to stop and say Thank you to our Lord.

I watched a video about romanticizing your life recently and was immediately hit with a message from the Holy Spirit. We lose the ability to romanticize; to day-dream; to be so grateful every moment; to see the beauty before us; to be creative, if we are constantly distracted by social media, television, and You Tube. In order to bring these things to full expression, we must turn off the noise. Every day, we need our quiet time. ♥️🇨🇦

I used to feel guilty about even the tiniest thrift store purchases for our home because I thought the Christian life had to be a spartan affair. But then I realized after visiting a number of institutional homes for troubled children how important creating a welcoming and peaceful environment for our families is. When our adopted daughter first came to live with us everything triggered terrifying memories. Now her thoughts of home are the cozy blankets and the smells of food on the stove. Every picture or trinket I bring into the house has a purpose. The purpose is to uplift and allow people to be reminded of the beauty and comfort of home and the natural world we are blessed to live in. As you know, you've been a part of that journey since my daughter has always loved your content.

I want to start slow living and my question to you is am I truly slow living when I have a child who makes things difficult? Let's say we start our morning right and then she stops the flow because she decides not to do something and my flesh just wants to hurry through because we have homeschooling and I have to clean the house but instead I focus in the moment and talk to her however long it takes to restore the relationship again not rushing through the moment of an opportunity. Is this slow living? Sorry I am new to this. Thank you sister Lea! Yah bless you.
@LittleHouseOnTheMountain Жыл бұрын
I don't have the personal experience with raising a child but I think that slow living can be integrated into daily life step by step and passed down. I think little things change the atmosphere of the day and of the Home environment. I follow a few women who aim for slow living and have a handful of children. Their day may look slightly different than mine, but the same general goals and attitudes would apply. Non overpacked schedules, nourishing foods, soft music, low lighting, learning to he okay with stillness and quiet, less toys and less screens, time outside, etc. I hope that helps. Hannah from Building our Goshen, Kaitlyn at Grounded Roots Farms, Carrie at 1000s of Roots. These are women with a handful of children who desire slow intentional living.

Homeschooling mom of 3 here 🤗. Hope it’s ok to chime in! I just love this topic, that’s all 😊. “Slow living” truly starts with the heart posture. What I love about videos like Lea’s - whose family dynamic looks different from mine - is that they remind me to open my eyes to the beauty in my ordinary day and to keep my heart from grumbling at the daily repetitive tasks (Lea, if you read this, you are seriously doing the Lords work here 😂). While I’m still working on this myself, I have also found that implementing a more seasonal lifestyle with kids is also a great way to bring focus to slow living! Drawing out the best of each season and perhaps developing a few little traditions along the way to look forward to together 😊
