I had already watched more than a dozen granny square tutorials, but I wanted to see your 'idiot proof' instructions. I like the way you explained and showed the anatomy as you went on. Nice instructions. I love making granny squares. I saw a cute granny square hat for sale at Target that I will make myself. 😉
@LittlejohnsYarn3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. I just have to ask how much was the hat at Target? At least you have the talent to make them yourself ❤️

@Littlejohn's Yarn $8.40. The head bands are $7. I looked and thought to myself 'why go pick one up if I can make one in any color I choose '. 😁

Sis, I just finished a granny-square!!!! I promise our minds are alike! It’s my go-to for baby blankets☺️. Praying all is well with you and your family! Have a question for you? Do you have a favorite stitch? If so, can you show us it and make something with a twist?? ❤️🙏🏾 I would love to see it!!

This was my first crochet project ever- granny square afghan, one big ever-growing square. If anyone is a first timer I would suggest a larger hook and thicker lighter colored yarn so you can count your stitches easier.
@LittlejohnsYarn3 жыл бұрын
That is a genius idea! I love doing granny squares until I get to the 6th or 7th round. Then I start to get impatient to finish, lol

@@LittlejohnsYarn I'm not usually much into joining squares but I've seen there are so many ways to do it I'm tempted to try some of them out! May be a bit overwhelming for a beginner though.

You may go fast but by repeating the directions ao many times, I think it will be easier to keep up. Any suggestions for not letting mybwork get so tight? Its like my tension keeps increasing.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha Idiot Proof....Love it and you did Great on the Easy instructions...even though I know how, I just had to watch lol... love the color combo Giiiiiiiiiirl that's what I do is double the changing Yarn chain, its clever riiiiiiight!!!! The only difference from what you do is that I never chain 1 in between each cluster around the repeated pattern, instead, I only chain 1 in between the cluster corners only, this way my Project doesn't have big holes...I've always done it this way and my Squares come out Perfect 👌 I'm going to have to use that Color Combo... Thank you Alysha for All that you do🧶💚
@LittlejohnsYarn2 жыл бұрын
Thank you❤️ I've done it both ways before. I think I like this way better, because in my mind it works up faster lol

I like how you teach, very good. Question my work is tight, is it okay to add extra chain Stichers 1 ch=2 ch and 2ch=3 ch?
@soffe67813 жыл бұрын
is your yarn smaller or do you just crochet tighter?
@sandranevins21443 жыл бұрын
s o f f e my chains stitches seem to be smaller. Same size yarn.
@soffe67813 жыл бұрын
@@sandranevins2144 Hmmm, I don’t think you can add extra chains and have the same result but you can try making one square like that! Or if you are new to crochet it’s easy not to be relaxed and work tight.
@LittlejohnsYarn2 жыл бұрын
Just go up a hook size. That should help

Excellent beginning tutorial. I do want to say that when you lift and lower your work, which you do from time to time for emphasis, it is kind of disorienting for the video watcher.
@LittlejohnsYarn2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for letting me know. Do you mean as I crochet or while talking & holding the item?
@darthlaurel2 жыл бұрын
@@LittlejohnsYarn Right at about 55 seconds or so you do it with your initial magic ring. That is what I am talking about. It is kind of dizzying, at least for me. Otherwise this is just great and you are so very specific and clear that I would definitely feel comfortable recommending this video to any beginning student (which I teach from time to time) who wanted to make for themselves a first blanket.

ROFLMAO! Geez! My head is spinning. Can you do a tutorial for BEGINNERS .. (if you have the patience? LOL!) A SMALL, EASY granny square ... from start to finish in ONE color - - step by step - no fast forwarding ... - would take about 28 minutes. The Gr. Sq. tutorials on YT are awful. It's obvious the peeps who are doing them are BORED and really don't have the patience to do a tutorial. Their videos should not be called a "tutorial". It's just click-bait. Thanks.

She talks way too fast for a beginner. Very frustrating
