learning a lot with Ann. she validates processes and "tricks" i have discovered while refining them for me. her playful manner and skilled, beautiful hands are pure joy to watch. i make note of the tips and to me she is a wonderful teacher.

Loved the video! Treat tips and fun! Humor in pottery is a must, without it, after many years, you’ll turn back into a lump of clay:)!

Wonderful video. I have been throwing for a couple months and finally understand the ribs that came in my basic tool kit. Thank you and I enjoyed your humor 😜

Great advice! Wish I'd seen this weeks ago. I have been overzealous with the metal rib on more than one occasion 😅

Can not say enough about your funny pottery humor!!! Great video! Do you use Bmix clay? Just curious.... I’m so glad I found your videos, I need all the help I can get especially when it comes to throwing on the wheel..... How do you keep your mugs so perfectly round? I think I put the handle on to soon causing the distortion.... Again that’s for brightening my morning with your videos

Hi Connie. Thanks for watching the video. I actually prefer Standard English Porcelain #365. It is smooth (no grog) and the cool white color is preferable for my style of decorating. I actually did a series of video workshops ($15-$20 per workshop for about 2 hours each) where I give you all my suggestions on supplies etc... and walk you through projects. ...vimeo.com/showcase/6725318

Enjoyed the video and the information you shared. Some sound intrusion at the end, was that a version of pottery tiddlywinks. Do you ever use the rib NSW or ENW?
@annruel1982
@annruel1982 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Freddie. I am glad you liked the video. sorry about the sound intrusion. perhaps You Tube is still processing the video???.... As far as the rib direction goes, usually I just got N to S and E to W. Probably couldnt hurt to rib extra directions :-)

I've never seen a rib being held with two hands and no support to the pottery piece
@annruel9142
@annruel9142 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Lynsey. When I am using the rib to just smooth the outside of the clay,, I find that I dont need support on the inside. the clay is already trying to gravitate outwardly against the rib. If I am ribbing clay on the inside of the piece, I will support the clay on the outside to keep gravity from pushing the clay out. Give it a try :-)
