Thank you , Marie, for another great video. Fabulous to learn more as I watch you work on the wheel! I was intrigued you did not use your edger tool. I loved the handles you made and chose for each mug shape. Looking forward to seeing how the glazing comes out for each mug.

@@PotteryCrafters a question for you unrelated to this video. Do you clean your pottery wheel after each use? We always clean everything afterwards. I can see how cleaning the hand tools is necessary and fairly easy and quick. Throwing a few items because you have a quick 60 or 90 minutes and then cleanup afterwards seems like too much work for such a short time on the wheel. Especially when you are as messy as I am. What is your routine? Thanks in advance.

That's a very good question. As much as I would like to clean my tools and wheel after each use I do not all the time. Sometimes I just don't have to clean up everything. I always clean my wheel head and do basic clean-up. but I don't always clean my splash pan. 😍

I keep trying. I can’t get my mug any taller than 4 1/2”. They twist or weak areas. Phooey I’ve gone through 50lbs of laguna clay. I can’t wait to try your favorite clay. Maybe there’s hope. lol thank you for all you do

Yes this is my favorite - Amaco A-Mix #11 Stoneware geni.us/hZeg You can also wedge some vinegar in the clay to improve the plasticity of the clay. 😊

Wonderful. Keep practicing Heidi. It's very common for a beginner to pull around 8 times to get the cylinder 6 to 7 inches high. Of course, everyone learns at a different pace. I have a how-to throw a cylinder video that may help. Here is the link for you. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gnTCdWp6aLidnq8 😊
