Renea another great video! I look forward to watching your videos daily I miss you when you are not on here. I am 70 years old and have learned a lot from you. I have always loved to cook but I have had back problems and have bursitis in my hip now going on 2 years now. It is really hard for me to stand very long. I could sit at the table and cut up my veggies and have them ready to freeze and take them out and throw in a dish. Thank you so much for your videos.

Rivel soup has been a standard in our family for years, it was such an easy and inexpensive way for my Gram to feed a lot of us. I've always explained to people that it's basically dumplings without the fluff to them, or noodles before they are fully incorporated. We have always used chicken as a base, my great gram would add potatoes and bacon to hers. Such a hearty and warm meal.

I always make my potato soup with egg rivels. Extra, extra rivers! My husband likes his made with milk, shredded carrots, and a little ham or bacon. I like mine water-based with just the potatoes, rivels, and parsley. It’s how we were raised😊 And I love those ice cream for prep and storage. (In sink at 1:34). If you try to boy that size for storing foods, it costs more than buying the ice cream!

For rice-a-roni I grind up a box of vermicelli. Then however many cups that turns out to be, I add the same amount of rice. I've never added spices like you did. I just season it as I need for a recipe. I may try the spices next time. Don't forget to keep a stick match between your lips when you chop and you won't cry.

@LittleVillageHomestead Жыл бұрын
You will brown the mix when you cook it. I make mine plain to sell so others can use whatever broth they choose. You can add any flavor bouillon you would like when you put it together. You would need about 5 tablespoons for the recipe.
@LittleVillageHomestead Жыл бұрын
I make mine plain because I sell it in my market stand. This way others can use whatever flavoring they choose. Also please look in the description box because I have the recipe as well as the direction to cook. Thank you my friend and God bless you too....

Hi Renae! You said in the video that you put 2 1/2 tablespoons of onion powder in the quadrupled recipe, but the written recipe in the description shows 2 tablespoons onion powder. Since there are about 8 teaspoons in 2 1/2 tablespoons, should the written directions say 2 tsp. instead of 2 Tbsp.? How much chicken or beef bouillon powder would I add to flavor one cup of the rice mix? I'm going to mix up a batch today! Thanks so much.

I only blanched the potatoes, onions and peppers don't require blanching. I pack them in freezer bags and still they get used up to fast to get freezer burnt. It does work very well. Give a small amount a try and you will love this.
