After an 18-month wait for its slow-boat delivery from Italy, we recently replaced our refer with a Vitrifrigo unit that looks exactly the same as yours. Very well built, solid unit which is much quieter and better performing that the one it replaced. We are delighted (no more weekly defrosting and soft ice cream!) and have concluded it was worth its significantly higher price. We are keeping our fingers crossed that it is more reliable than other expensive Italian products, such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Alfas and Fiats 🙏🙏🙏

We were in a holding pattern for 9 months. Sounds like we should count our blessings 😏 I’m a bit bummed that it didn’t come with a toe kick. Lucky we have a local metal works shop that can make one based on a template we made. So far, it is working wonderfully. The self defrosting is outstanding.

Yes we are off the hard! The stad 20 is perfect for our boat. We challenged seas we would NEVER go out in with quartering seas and 4-5 foot waves but it was like a magic carpet.

So what is your opinion of the stabilizer system? Have you had enough opportunity to gauge the effectiveness? Really curious as we are trying to figure out which brand/system to go with - CMC, Wesmar, Seakeeper, Humphree, Quantum - there are so many options it's almost too much!

I feel ya on the option count. We’ve had the boat in 5’ quartering seas with 30 knot winds, it’s like a magic carpet. It’s taking our brains time to realize the boat isn’t going to roll. It’s surreal. The zero motion option is remarkable as well. A gyro would be better for the initial roll but, it really takes all of the remaining roll out of any wake.

I would not feel comfortable cutting such large holes in a boat, especially fibreglass. Also auto defrosting freezers are not good for long term storage.

Any refit is certainly a matter of acceptable comfort to a vessel owner. However, our installation was reviewed and approved by a naval architect, addressing any concerns we had. As far as long term freezer storage, that isn’t a requirement for our galley freezer. Our inventory gets turned a couple times a season. Now defrosting a freezer 3x a year, that’s a maintenance item we don’t need on our list.

The location of the receptacles on the actuator is not a flaw in its design considering it allows you to rotate them, The manufacturer has no idea how the installer is going to route the lines! I watched a few of your videos hoping to see some actual work being done by you and your wife, But instead all you do is talk while someone else does your work off camera!

Lots of channels out there. I’d recommend you find another one. Oh, the manufacturer confirmed it was a build flaw and recommended a work around.
