Wonderful ambient track and a great demo of using RC-505 for such type of music! I've got a question - according to the manual, this looper is the only one I came across that has the asynchronous looping mode, so I wonder if you've had a chance to try out this mode?
@jrobthehuman2 жыл бұрын
Aww thank you so much! Yes, I actually almost exclusively use the asynchronous mode, and that's what I'm using here. Once you get used to the menus, it's very easy to change your track settings and save them for future use.

The asynchronous allows you to start and stop loops at various times and not linked with each other?

Thanks fo r this incredible track! Can you tell me if this looper has loop decay?
@jrobthehuman Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! It unfortunately does not! There is a "fade" feature so that when you hit stop on a track it will slowly fade out, but it's a pretty quick fade (I'm guessing max 30s).

So what I’m hearing is a lot of delay and some reverb. Not sure if that’s coming from the synth or the 505 or the minilogue i really would utterly love a tutorial on this… however art changes us and inspires… I will find my way to make this I have the 505 and a Moog matriarch. Thank you for sharing. I now will begin a journey x

Thank you for your generous comment! Typically the big delays and reverbs are through the effects in the 505, but sometimes I'm adding them in the synth patches as well. If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try to help!

This is so relaxing. I have the RC 202 and no matter how hard I try can't figure out how to connect it and get it working with obs studio. I have watched tutorials and like that it is a standalone looper for voice without a daw and understand it can be used directly as an audio interface but just not getting it to work with obs.

Sleep very well.....I have a RC-505 MK1 but the RC-505 MK2 sounds better.

Hi, this is really nice, I like your playing, and I didn't know, that the Minilogue sounds that good. Fantastic. I've got a question, if you allow. I'm also using the 505 MK2 for ambient and drone sonds, and I'm trying to make the loops start/end smoothly without clicks, but I'm struggeling to get it right. Your loops seem to be very smooth without any annoying clicks. Are you using a special method or certain settings to achieve that? I'd really like to learn how to do that. Thank you!

Hi, and thanks for your kind words! I’ve heard of people having that issue. I can’t remember if I encountered it when I started using it, but I know that I upgraded the firmware, which might have helped. I’m not home now so I can’t check particular settings, but I’m pretty sure I turned any quantize and sync settings off for each track, and I think I have beat sync/quantize turned off at the memory level. Try those out and if you are still having trouble, email me at (justin at justinrobinsonmusic.com) and I’ll see if I can help.

@@jrobthehuman Thank you very much for your quick and helpful answer. I've installed the newest firmware, but that doesn't seem to do the trick. I'm experimenting with several of the many settings, but I didn't test the Quantize settings yet. My experience is, that the character of the sound makes a difference (e.g. pure sinus FM sounds work better than other, kind of mixed sounds) and a pre-recorded empty loop, which is then overdubbed, also works better. But unfortunately it seems to be a kind of try and error thing on the 505, which is otherwise a really nice creative tool. I will do more experimenting to get my head around all these settings. Thanks again for your help!

Wonderful track man!! I'm just getting into the 505, and definitely want to try some nice big ambient sounds, so this was inspiring. Do you have midi connected between the two at all?
@brianobush10 ай бұрын
I am sure he does; you have to sync your clocks for sequences. He might be doing this all by hand tho.
