Could you have left a track open and recorded your performance to that open track? That's what I'm looking to do so I can create soundscapes as a single loop.

fantastic, so you can have a library of your own loops in there and compose on the fly? Is there any sort of delay if you change presets to get a different set of loops?

Yes you can have a set of loops saved. A little bit of lag but not much.
