Annie, watched your podcast this morning while having my coffee. Thanks so much for sharing your stories of your Mom. My Mom was very similar too - the crafts, the use of tools and raised during the depression. Hope you rid yourself of your summer cold soon. Enjoy your weekend. In Canada it is our first long weekend to start off the summer and we are going to have a sunny one!

What an interesting episode Annie. Your mum sounds just like mine. Women who lived through the depression handmade almost everything. My mum was also a gardener. She propagated so many plants and rarely bought them. She was a wonderful knitter too and taught me at age 7. I'm 72 now and I knit everyday. I "wrecked" myself a few years back when I broke my ankle on a frosty deck. Sorry to hear about your fall. You'll come good though. When I go walking I'm always looking down to make sure I don't trip and fall. It's lovely to hear your clock chiming again. Take care and keep sipping that tea with honey and lemon. It works a treat.

My mom passed away 4 years ago and I miss her dearly.

Our daughter also stepped on a nail with tennis shoes on. She also had an infection. The doctor told us a piece of the shoe is what caused it. It was very scary 😢 She was preschool age and had to spend Easter that year in the hospital
