Another great show Ariel... Couple of quick follow up questions if you don't mind for iOS: 1.) Is is better for an ASO beginner to start targetting only single keywords and forget about long tail keywords for now? 2.) Re. Longtail Keywords does it have any + or - effect if you have them beside each other in titles/subtitles/keyword field eg. (guided, meditation) versus (guided, health, meditation). 3.) I see keyword ranking working/acting independently for iPhone and iPad. How on earth do we optimise/manage this when you only have one keyword list in iTunes Connect? Gracias Amigo!

Hey! Well, have you thought about adding another section of filtering as "popularity/competitiveness" score? So that, I don't need to find a popular but less competitive keyword by myself with a calculation in my mind. With this way basically high score ones will be useful for my app, am I wrong with this somehow? Not sure just asking

What is the best place to use a keyword other then tilte or short description in a desire to rank for it,?

For Google Play all you have left is the long description, where you want it to have a density of 3% - 5%

Does using fallback languages affect your ASO performance? For example: Does having "EN (UK)" metadata and NOT having "EN (US)" metadata affect your rankings on the US App Store?

It shouldn't, but if you're targeting the US you should definitely have something in your en-us.

Can you give examples of what reverse app names with the branding last actually look like? I don't remember seeing anything like that before.

It's certainly not common, which is good if you can leverage it. It will become common in the future and then it won't give as much of a boost. Here are a few examples I stumbled upon recently: * The #3 result for the keyword "calendar" is "Simple Calendar - SimpleCal" * The #1 result for the keyword "video filters" is "Video Filters Photo Editor - Ton" * The #1 result for the keyword "scanner" is "PDF Scanner App: iScanner" If your competitors are already doing this you're a step behind. You can check what they're doing using Keyword Inspector.

This strategy may work well from ASO perspective for now but looks bit odd from reader's perspective, don't you think? Wouldn't it be much easier to use incentivized traffic instead to push target keywords to the top position? P.S. I'm talking about real users here not any kind of bots that could possibly cause any issues with Apple.

It really depends on how you do it. Most users don’t come into the App Store to find your app by name. They come for what it does. When you’re big enough that they do come for the name that’s when you can flip it back. Paid ads and keyword optimization aren’t mutually exclusive and in some cases both are necessary.

@@appfigures I'd totally agree that both are necessary considering there are millions of apps on Apple App Store now. What I was saying is that using a brand name at the of the title looks bit odd for readers and will not be necessary in most cases considering that almost anyone can use incentive strategy today to rank relevant keywords (not only those in the app name but others too) as long as they understand how search algorithm works and they have good quality traffic of course. Anyway, thanks for the great content, keep up the good work! :)
